       Application: Meyuki Stoneteller
By: Grace Date: November 29, 2017, 9:11 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Why does s/he want to join the lowlife theft gang, the Sixty
Thieves? (And OOCly, why do you want to join?)
[b]ICly: Meyuki worked a sound job in the Black Market for years
under Madame Goya, though it went south when she decided that
instead of delivering a set of ornate, ancient prayer scrolls,
she would keep it for herself. When her treachery was found it
quickly sealed her fate: she would never rise to a higher
position in a job she enjoyed working for.
She could never settle for a simple, peaceful life. With her job
now a fruitless endeavour, she seeks something that holds
promise for the weeks, months and years to come. With the loss
of her collegue's trust, Meyuki hopes to learn from her mistakes
and earn herself a new position within the lands beyond
       Pandaria.
She offers to the Thieves a wide experience with smuggling,
transporting and trading "borrowed" goods. Although she deeply
regrets her disloyalty to a job she loved, she still wishes to
continue her path in what might be considered a
less-than-desirable career to some, often believing that this
path is not only her destiny, but something beautiful and
thrilling all at the same time.
OOCly: [center][P] [Meyuki Stoneteller]: "leah keeps telling me
       to"
[P] [Laerynna Asha'nid]: i think this sounds better:
[P] [Laerynna Asha'nid]: "leah keeps enlightening me and showing
       me on the right path"
       [/center]
[s]no but seriously.[/s] I've been a part of Sixty on and off
for a few years (since 2011 or 2012?), though I started getting
disconnected from horde RP, especially since moving over from
Defias to Argent Dawn. I want Meyuki to be a gateway, of sorts,
of getting back into horde RP instead of sitting playing
alliance like some filthy scumbag all day.
       What would their nickname be?
Creed: Meyuki has a deep, profound respect not only for her own
culture and history, but for the cultures and histories of other
races. She's very deeply motivated by her beliefs and an ache to
learn of the world beyond Pandaria, it's people, and their
       faiths.
Gloom: A good word to describe Meyuki would be... 'gloomy.'
Although there is certainly a lot more to her, she doesn't look
or act particularly cheerful or bubbly-- rather, she is quiet,
solemn and fairly dutiful with her actions.
Other suggestions are, naturally, quite welcome! Some other
names I was considering were Grim (too close to another
       character name, however) and Sworn.
       How powerful is your character?
Nothing special-- most of her power comes from physical, brute
strength and a quick, clever mind. She could lift things that
are particularly heavy with ease, and she has a good head on her
shoulders, one that thinks critically, but she could be easily
overpowered if outnumbered. Her power comes mostly in her chosen
profession-- from staying in the back and doing what she's best
at, though it might not be particularly clever to challenge her
       to a brawl.
       What's her/his background like?
Meyuki is a reasonable, respectful person raised by reasonable,
respectful people. Born in Halfhill in Pandaria, she was raised
to be a farmer. Her strength was used to carry huge bales of
hay, carry loads of vegetables onto a cart, and handle herds of
yak and oxen. Her childhood was a simple one: too simple. Meyuki
       did not long for it.
Nor did she long for the stories of her ancient ancestors:
lorewalkers and Shado-pan. She heard of serpent-riders to the
east, mountain climbers to the north, but none of them spoke to
her. She holds a deep respect for each and every one who took
these paths, but in her heart, she knows that, simply put, they
are just not the path for her.
There was no real tragedy or large turning point that made
Meyuki feel as though joining the Black Market was the destiny
that the Celestials had chosen for her. There was barely even a
realisation: she did it because she felt it was correct, because
the hand of fate was guiding her towards it. Her disagreements
with her family over it were just that: calm, respectful
       disagreements.
There is no room for hostility, after all.
She was recruited into the Black Market for the reasons she did
so well with her farm life. She was strong, capable, and willing
to learn. Disappointment rang through her colleagues the day she
picked up ancient, beautiful prayer scrolls-- scrolls that
reminded her of the rich, pandaren culture that she loved and
held so close --and kept them for herself. The selfish move lost
her a job she lost, friends she trusted, and brought dishonour
to a path she believed that was brought to her by faith alone.
With a heart to redeem herself, and to apologize and beg for a
second chance from the Celestials, Meyuki seeks a second chance
in Kalimdor, a long away from the lands she had grown so close
to. With experience on her shoulders and a mind capable of
learning and improving, she hopes she can bring her best to the
       hardly-known races around Azeroth.
How consistent is your character with following the lore?
I try to keep things as consistent as possible! I know there's
been a lot of rabble about retcons and edits to lore in the
past, but I do try my best to, at the very least, compromise.
I'm always open to improvement and corrections to lore (this is
also my first pandaren character, incidentally) and I do enjoy
trying to make roleplay both enjoyable for myself and other
       players.
       "Are you a killer, son/lass?"
"I wouldn't define myself as such, nor do I kill in cold blood.
My hand has been raised before; it will likely be raised again,
but not without reason and not without order. I pray for every
life that I've taken in hopes that they are returned to their
families and ancestors, where ever they may go."
       Do you accept ‘RP-consequences’?
That's what makes RP fun! Although I don't particularly like
playing too much of a victim, I generally accept most injuries
dealt to my character, allow them to have scars and long-term
injury. The same goes for consequences even outside of that-- if
my character is caught breaking the law, I will not argue with
their imprisonment and punishment, nor do I take things that
happen IC into my heart OOC. The only thing I would draw the
line at is having my character killed without permission.
Any specialities s/he has? Perhaps a skill in something, a
behavioural or personality trait that can be considered unique.
Loyal and wise, Meyuki isn't too dissimilar from most pandaren.
She rarely steps out of line-- she's quiet and considerable,
disciplined almost stoic in nature. It might be easy to believe
       that she was military-trained.
Her skills mostly lie in her prior-mentioned physical strength
and critical thinking, along with years of experience in
smuggling and trading. She is considerably easy to work with.
She listens to order, she does as she is told, and she rarely
speaks unless spoken to- though this could be considered a
       weakness if it's small-talk you're looking for.
As a more trivial skill, Meyuki's time spent tending to her
family's farmland had landed her with an excellent skill in
cooking and brewing coffee and teas, should it be a warm meal
you want from her. Hell, the one thing Meyuki mostly wants to
return to after a long day of working is a pint and supper.
       What's your activity like?
Not great, admittedly. I'm helping to run a guild over on
Alliance, so my time is mostly absorbed by that. As such, I
can't promise anything particularly great to come, though as
part of that leadership I've picked up some DMing skills if you
ever wanted to let a recruit build some events for you if I have
       time.

T'is a good thing that "leah keeps enlightening me and showing
me on the right path". Clearly she's someone you should listen
       to.
The app's stellar and your character looks really interesting to
me. Shame about the activity though but what can you do!

       Hey again!
The application looks solid, and so does the character concept.
Pandaren are always in a short supply in a guild like this, so
getting another would certainly work towards a more colourful
       atmosphere.
What comes to activity, it is unfortunate but completely
understandable that it may not be consistent. In the case of a
longer period of inactivity / absence you know who to keep up to
       date about it.

Thanks for taking the time to write the application, I'm really
glad something magical enlightened you to make it.
Any questions and thoughts I have about Meyuki I'll interact
with ICly about during the interview, which you can have
whenever as this application is approved!
