Application: Woo-Sang Song
By: Tact Date: October 20, 2017, 7:04 am
---------------------------------------------------------
- Why does he want to join the lowlife thief gang, the Sixty
Thieves?
Woo-Sang, set on a path of crime since a young age, has gone
through several phases in his life, the latest of which landed
him without a job or home. Fortunately, his round ears have
caught hushed words and rumors of an organisation operating from
central Kalimdor, potentially recruiting new members. Determined
to become a part of the so-called "Sixty Thieves", he's in the
process of trying to seek them out, and to put his skills to use
once more. (More in the background)
- What would his nickname be?
Mug, Cask, Keg - something bewerage related.
- How powerful is your character?
Woo-Sang holds a naturally large build thanks to his racial
attributes, which are further boosted by hard physical labour -
such as the carrying of barrels and crates - which has led into
him developing a fair amount of muscle and strength. However, he
never received any kind of training to use this strength to his
advantage in fights, and thus relies solely on his instincts and
plain common sense, whenever things come to blows. Woo-Sang does
not posess any kind of magical abilities, either, being a
pandaren of a relatively simple background and skillset.
- Character description
Woo-Sang is a looming pandaren in his thirties, towering above
average, and built sturdily; sporting a mighty belly and a pair
of thick, strong arms, well-accustomed to physical labour. His
black and white fur is thick and ungroomed, but entirely lacking
of scars and bald spots, suggesting a life lived in relative
peace.
Hidden amidst the darker fur surrounding his eyes, lies an
ever-watchful gaze; sharp and cat-like in its amber colour,
shifting effortlessly from person to person. Often accompanied
with a light smirk - playing slyly on his anchor-shaped lips -
he gives off an indistinctly wily impression, in favour of the
softer, kinder nature his race is known for.
Dressed in simple and practical clothes, he's not one to draw
attention in terms of style. Were it not for the large,
heavy-laden cask of ale ever so often strapped to his back, or
the light tinkle of glass he leaves behind in the wake of his
steps, he'd likely be paid little to no attention under the
public eye.
- What's his background like?

Woo-Sang Dewsong comes from a simple family of brewers, from
Halfhill in Pandaria. He grew up in the peaceful scenery of the
Valley of the Four Winds, helping around with his family
business, though he had been born with an itch for something
greater than the setting he had found himself in; a subtle,
clawing desire at the back of his head, for thrill and
adventure. Neither could be found in his own village, where
change rarely came, and the excitement was largely limited to
attacks of virmen on the fields. He heard stories of the few
pandaren explorers throughout his youth, and was intrigued by
Liu Lang and Chen Stormstout especially, who had travelled to
the other continents to make a name for themselves. Woo-Sang
spent his nights dreaming of the distant lands, the treasures he
could find, and the fame he would have once he returned.
As a teenager, he became more aware of his chances to leave his
homeland. He'd need a ship, a willing, skilled pandaren crew to
sail it, and a lot of money to buy himself both. The Dewsong
Brewery earned at a slow and stable speed - far too slow - and
it was ran by his father, so only a small portion of the income
ended in Woo-Sang's own pockets. There were, however, more
succcesful breweries in the area, some of which exported their
brews as far as the Kun-Lai Summit to the north, and Jadesong
Forest to the east. Driven by his thirst for thrill and greed
for glory, Woo-Sang proceeded to sneak out at night to visit
said breweries, steal barrels from their storages, and hide them
away. Every few weeks he'd gather all the stolen goods together
on a wagon, set out on a smuggling journey to different
villages, and claim to have worked for the better-famed
breweries from which he had stolen, selling the brews and saving
up the profits to get closer to his ultimate goal.
Many years went by, and the missing barrels in the numerous
storages did not go unnoticed. What began as a small nuisance,
soon grew to be a great financial loss, and investigations were
started. The initial suspect had been the virmen, untill one
hapless night Woo-Sang had been caught red-handed. Having
brought shame to his family and village, he was stripped off of
his savings, and exiled from his home. As a result, he dropped
his familyname Dewsong, to be henceforth simply known as 'Song',
and set off on an aimless journey, infested by shattered dreams
and an ignominious past.
Woo-Sang fell to drink and dwelved deeper into crime - the only
thing he saw himself fit to do - and his long-time goal drifted
further and further away from his mind, soon almost entirely
forgotten. Though the pandaren underworld isn't particularly
large, he soon found himself working for and with likeminded
individuals; others that had been shunned by their families, or
simply those born with a more mischievious nature. He honed his
skills as a smuggler, taking up contracts to deliver different
hot goods from place A to place B all across Pandaria, hidden
away in the casks of ale he'd carry on his back and wagon. He
came upon rumors of 'Madam Goya' and the 'Black Market' on his
journeys, and although he never had any direct encounteres with
the infamous woman, he was sure to have worked for her
indirectly on a handful of occasions.
Another major change was soon upon Woo-Sang's life, with the
coming of the Horde and Alliance. These alien races were quick
to spread across the entirety of Pandaria, bringing with them
the Sha, and war amongst themselves. The land had become a more
dangerous place to travel in, but the changed circumstances also
promised new opportunities. The new races had arrived in
Pandaria via entire fleets of ships - ships that would surely
need to take them back home one day. Woo-Sang's dream was given
newfound hope, and though he could no longer become known as one
of the few pandaren who had dared to set foot outside of
Pandaria, he could still seek for wealth and thrill for his own
sake. He managed to buy himself a place on a Steamwheedle
merchant vessel - used to trade with the locals - which would
take him to the continent 'Kalimdor'.
Thus began a new chapter in Woo-Sang's life. He wounded up in
Gadgetzan, Tanaris, in the capital of the Steamwheedle Cartel,
and he found the race of goblins not too unlike what he himself
was and had become; driven by greed, fame, and opportunities,
and no longer paying much mind by what means these were
achieved. He continued to ply his 'trade' for the goblins,
before noting that more of his own kind had found their way to
Gadgetzan. This gang of criminal pandaren - going by the name
'Jade Lotus' - soon gained foothold in the city's underworld,
and their presence brought a sense of familiarity and belonging
to Woo-Sang, which he had previously lacked in the barren
desert. He took it upon himself to try and join their ranks -
and he did. As one of the organisation's smugglers, he would
take up contracts to deliver stolen jades to the leaders of the
crime family, often sending him to the far corners of Kalimdor
and Eastern Kingdoms, to meet up with different contacts.
This lasted untill the Legion's assaults on Tanaris. Woo-Sang
was no warrior, nor a hero, and thus under the threat of death
by the Legion's hands, he fled Gadgetzan to protect his life.
His journey took him north to Horde-controlled lands, where he'd
go into hiding; fearing that the Jade Lotus - known for its lack
of hesitation to use violence - would punish him for his
disappearance and cowardice. Now, Woo-Sang has once again found
himself in the situation where he has to seek for a new home and
new employers, to be able to continue on his downtrodden path
towards gold and glory. Luckily, rumors of such opportunities
were quick to reach his ears...
- How consistent is your character with following the lore?
I always strive to be as consistent and accurate with the lore
as possible on all of my characters. Admittedly, pandaren lore
is somewhat new to me, so I'd be very grateful to get tips
and/or corrections if anything my character does or claims seems
to be out of place in terms of lore.
- "Are you a killer, son?"
No. Though he may differ from your most stereotypical pandaren
in terms of personality, he hasn't developed a taste for
killing, nor has he ever needed to kill during his lifetime.
However, if his hand was forced, he surely wouldn't hesitate too
much to take a life to save his own - even if he'd likely lose a
few night's sleep afterwards as a result.
- Do you accept ‘RP-consequences’?
I’m open to any and all consequences – ranging from tickles to
death. Bring it.
- Any specialities he has?
Woo-Sang's physical prowess makes him decent at most simple
things that require muscle; such as carrying or lifting heavy
objects, dragging along a cart, or simply throwing a nice
fat-packed punch at somebody's face. Aside from his physical
attributes, Woo-Sang has also learned acting during his years as
a smuggler, having mastered the art of bullpoopting believable
stories, and pulling different kinds of impressions to push
himself through tricky situations. He's also well-aware of the
stereotypes associated with his race, and shamelessly uses them
to his advantage. After all, who'd suspect a fat and fluffy,
widely smiling pandaren to have done something criminal?
Due to his background, Woo-Sang also knows the basics of brewing
of ales, and he has developed a keen taste for different types
of bewerages. Over the years, he has grown rather knowledgeable
of various pandaren brews, especially, and is capable of turning
that knowledge into profit by stealing, smuggling, and dealing
the best-selling products. He's also quite likely to drink
members of other races under the table if it came to that - if
one would consider that a speciality.
- What's your activity like?
This character is on my second account, so technically I can log
him just as much as Tact - and at the same time as Tact - at
least whenever I have my PC at my disposal, which can handle two
WoW's simultaneously.

Denied cause I don't have a second account and you're flexing on
me.
Approved cause I like fluffly smugglers.
Double-approved because I eat a /gquit if I deny.
