       Frickle Slipstream
By: Professor Explosivio Date: February 20, 2017, 2:58 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Hello! As one might gather from my username, this isn't actually
my main character, so to speak. Professor Explosivio has already
established himself as a loose contact and a supplier of various
goods, but he's not interested in joining - or rather, rejoining
       - the gang. As most of you know, I used to be part of the guild
way back in Defias Brotherhood, and served as its very explosive
and unbalanced recruit, later officer, and eventually Bandit
King, nicknamed Boom, for quite some time. Here's me trying to
worm my way back in a capacity that's more of a fresh start - a
       decade later.
Why does s/he want to join the lowlife theft gang, the Sixty
Thieves? (And OOCly, why do you want to join?)
Frickle Slipstream, a professional goblin, would like to
consider herself an opportunist. But after working solo for most
of her life, she really doesn't have anything to show for it.
She's resourceful, yes, but unmotivated, and her past is getting
caught up to her. She seeks a community to apply her talents,
and to find some semblance of security and family. A fresh
start, from the character's point of view as well.
       What would their nickname be?
I was considering "Slick", refencing her slicked back pompadour
       hairstyle and overall rockabilly vibe.
       How powerful is your character?
Not particularly powerful in terms of destructive capability.
She's more adaptable and streetwise than she is a straight up
powerhouse. She's a shaman of the goblin persuasion, meaning
she's got a few specific elemental entities, spirits or lesser
sprites that she can call upon, but even a few of those aren't
that reliable because she hasn't been able to hold up her end of
the deal. She's a fiery personality but focuses on the elemental
forces of water. She's got some basic tricks, like the ability
of far sight and rudimentary healing. She's got an elemental
helper that can light a cigar or start a trash fire, but Frickle
can't really call forth a lava burst from her grubby fingers.
Frickle doesn't understand much at all about mechanics or
engineering, so she doesn't possess the know-how of channeling
elemental energies through totems like most goblin shamans do.
       What's her/his background like?
Like most of the goblins serving under the Horde's banner,
Frickle is - or at least used to be - a cronie of the Bilgewater
Cartel. She spent most of her life on Kezan, working odd jobs
and helping with back-alley deals for a small-time boss who was
later literally shot out of a cannon by Gallywix personally.
Deeming it smart to jump ship before she'd suffer the same fate,
she pledged loyalty to the Trade Prince and was promptly
assigned on a near-suicidal mission to Tanaris. Along with other
small fishes out of water, their mission was to subtly sabotage
Steamwheedle operations within Gadgetzan and the surrounding
area in order to - actually, who am I kidding - she didn't know
why. It was most likely a ploy to remove problematic individuals
and toss them somewhere far beyond to die, or at least do more
       good than bad.
Frickle didn't really take to it, holding no loyalty to
Bilgewater interests, so she assumed a new identity as a
musician. Claiming her genre of music was the hottest new ****
straight outta Kezan, she and a few fellow refugees formed a
band called the Scrapheap Scoundrels. They were, surprisingly,
moderately successful, and found a modest following with the
Steamwheedle goblins, even to the point where they managed to
weasel out a deal to go perform in Orgrimmar. As luck would have
it, while they were en route on a rickety zeppelin, The
Cataclysm hit just while they were crossing the Barrens. The
Zeppelin crashed, and weeks later, Frickle found herself being
nursed to health by a small tribe of tauren. All of her
bandmates were dead. Having only a song to offer as thanks for
the taurens' healing, she found herself leaving less liked than
       she had been while unconscious.
Upon reaching Orgrimmar, of course, the Bilgewater Cartel she
had abandoned had joined up with the Horde.
Now this has gone on for long enough, so maybe we'll find out
       the rest in game!
How consistent is your character with following the lore?
As much as I can possibly be. I have a pretty broad
understanding of the lore, but I'm not above taking *some*
liberties. If I do make dumb goofs every once in a while, I hope
they're at least more clever than Blizzard's very own cultural
references, of which there are many and I can't say I'm opposed
to them. Hell, Frickle's little elemental cigar lighter is
       called Burnie Cinders.
All in all, I try to be educated about the lore and if mess
something up, I'm open to be educated.
       Are you a killer, son/lass?
Frickle has never killed anyone, and would rather not think
about what she'd do if given no other choice.
       Do you accept RP-consequences?
Absolutely. Just **** me up fam, I think adversity leads to
better stories and I've never been one to complain about my
       characters being mistreated.
Any specialities s/he has? Perhaps a skill in something, a
behavioural or personality trait that can be considered unique.
I went a bit in-depth into her abilities already, but she's very
recognizeable as this sort of tomboyish, rebellious, rockabilly
subculture version of a goblin. She's always chewing on a cigar,
riding a kitted-out goblin turbo trike with gold rims with tinny
tunes blasting out of whatever serves for a radio, obsessively
fixated on heir hair but not really anything else about her
appearance. She's witty and crass, inconsiderate but certainly
       never evil.
       - What's your activity like?
Pretty active, at the time! I'm usually online at least a bit
almost every day, but I do spend my time divided between a few
characters - I haven't played in years, so I'm focused on
       discovering and rediscovering the game.
       ________________________________________
       Hope that was adequate. Peace!

Hiya Boom! I think I might have seen your character oocly.
Delinquent guildless goblin with her hair combed back and a comb
       in her hair!
Nice detailed app and.. Burnie Cinders :D And loving Slick as a
       nickname!
Because you left out the information between her fellow
bandmates' death up until now, I'm not entirely sure what her
exact motivation is to join the thieves. I assume she's now
being seen as a traitor to the Bilgewater goblins and basically
looks for new allies and an opportunistic income after
abandoning her cartel. I also assume the loss made her stop
persuing her musical career and seeks out the shady life again?
I think this can be concluded from what you said at motivation
to join, but I'm a little slow and just wanting to make sure :B
I also wanted to mention that I like how her shamanistic
abilities are very basic and she has flaws in that, e.g. the
totems and bargaining with the elementals. & minor mending
       abilities, noice!

Yes, that is basically the gist of it! I'm sorry if that was
left a bit open-ended - this is usually the kind of stuff I like
to explain and explore in game, it's good to have some
background secrets that aren't immediately divulged. It has been
years since the history I detailed in the application, but I'm
open to writing more. Either that, or we can set up an in-game
sort of meeting to deal with her motivations. If I know myself,
I've found if anything I'm good at coming up with stories on the
       spot.

I got no questions that can't wait for the IC meet up!
So glad to have met Boomly, alas, a fresh start on another
       character may be better off
Approved and see you in game!!
Ps. We will **** you up, fam.

Ahh alright, then everything is clear for me and this gets my
       approval as well!
I'm also personally a bit iffy with showing my character history
versus letting it be discovered through RP, so I understand why
you left that bit out : D
Looking forward to see you in-game!

Always nice to see something that is not an blood elf, almost to
the point I could give a instant approval for it!
That she is a shaman makes this one a interesting person, since
I've not seen many criminal shamans lately.
I dont really have much to poke on here really, especially since
you said she dont know how to make those goblin totems (Watching
her carry those would be fun)
Overall, this character seems good and would fit in well with
       the gang.

Hey there, and apologies for a late response! I've been busy in
England, and thus been inactive both here and in-game. (Writing
this at the airport at the moment.)
Not many questions pop up after reading the application - it is
well-written and detailed enough to make it safe to say we can
continue learning about your character in-game.
Approved - poke an officer in-game (Thalindor, Laerynna, Einsam,
Erthamar, Ahote, Fraylee) to arrange an ic interview!
