Joseph Fornkeep's Application
By: Morang Date: July 20, 2016, 6:42 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Soo.. Not sure how to do this, but I will give it a try.
Backstory
In life, Joseph Fornkeep used to prowl the streets of Gilneas,
picking pockets and hiding away from the guard. If he had ever
been caught, he would use his silver tongue to get away from a
nasty situation, perhaps even perform a bit to at least confuse
his would-be captors. If that did not work, he always resorted
to accepting any punishment that may be given to him, leaving
him lashed or in stockades quite often.
In death, his personality had not taken any hits, apart from his
silver tongue now turning in to incomprehensible nonsense, and
his performances ever so demeaning at times, maybe even
desperate, but that does not stop him from trying to find
himself a bit of fortune, whether it be from a silver tongue or
from his instincts in guile, or usage of engineering, taught by
Gnomish Engineers when he was visiting Booty Bay, but that has
yet to have been proven successful.
Killer or Not?
Joseph had never founded himself favoring taking one's life. If
one were to pry, he would share that he had once beaten someone
that he had respect for, which lead him to use his tongue rather
than his fists and weapons.
Power Level
Since whenever Joseph was brought back to life, his tolerance
for pain had been increased tenfold. Physical injury is not a
problem to him, whether it be being beaten, pulled apart or
tortured, he would still not cease talking. That is where his
perks end, as he is still very much vulnerable to being blown up
or simply carved in to pieces, making it very hard for him to be
put back together properly. Since he also has history with
violence, he chooses to not be put in any conflict where it
involves him getting in to a fight, if anything he would accept
any beatings rather than trying to be a hero and face off
against an angry Orc.
RP Consequences
I will say it like this: I feel a hint of bravery, since I have
written my character as invincible, but weak like paper, that I
can safely say that I would feel comfortable having a guard take
my hand off for having it in the cookie jar. But a feeling
inside me is saying that I would feel very uncomfortable with
something like that. Doesn't harm to try I guess.
Why would I like to be here?
I want to practice "Twirling my Tongue" in a guild somewhere,
never really join mayn Roleplaying Guilds because I am expected
to be a fighter, and I was hoping that fighting in this guild
would be something nearly non-existant. Plus I like to make my
character a big fancy talker.
Following the lore?
I have to say that lore is a bit of a hard thing to follow
sometimes, since there's so much of it. Even a simple card game
had been integrated in to the lore. But I certainly can say that
I do abide by the lore of things, and I don't go walk around
claiming I was the son of someone important, or that I am
important myself in a much bigger way, then expect people to
take it seriously (If that is what the question is asking me).
Special Skills
Joseph is a bit of a low-grade engineer, mid-grade at best. He
talks really fast with complex words, that could potentially
confuse people and distract them, and he is not ashamed to put
his dignity down on the line and throw himself at the feet of
someone, begging them for whatever reason.
Hope this looks good enough, and I hope you enjoy the read.

Thanks for taking time to write the application,
I don't have any questions that cant be answered in game, and it
was indeed an enjoyable read! Your character sounds like the
sort of casual street pick pocket, both in life and death - and
that is very much what we would like to recruit.
As for your comment on RP consequences, I get it. It's good to
have the acknowledgement that punishments like that could fall
on your character and be willing to go ahead with it, but
something so severe for a lowly act will probably not happen
unless requested! The guild just wants members to accept that
being the antagonist in RP can lead to punishment
Will enjoy giving your character an interview ICly, so approved
!
Contact Anabe / Thalindor / Laerynna on WoW and we can discuss
where to meet for RP!

Hello there, and thanks for applying!
A solid and well-thought application. Following lore can be
tricky due to the amount of it, mixed with even more non-canon
information, and we don't expect anyone to know everything -
because we for sure don't know it all either. It's more of a
'don't do something you know to be wrong' and 'be willing to
chance some things if someone points out they conflict badly
with the lore'. What comes to fighting, this guild isn't
completely free of it either, as lots of things can go wrong on
missions and what not, and sometimes the prize is too big to let
it slip past the fingers just because someone decided to step in
front of you, but killing is strictly forbidden ICly. However,
we do have events that don't involve any sort of fighting, and
people with different skillsets are usually put to do different
things on heists, so everyone gets to shine.
All the guildmembers have nicknames to be used ICly, typically a
word that describes the character in some way, either ironically
or truthfully. These nicknames or 'codenames' are what the
Thieves call each other in missions and typically during their
leisure time if there's no extra pairs of ears listening in to
them. It is something that we can think out in-game, however.
All in all, looking good to me. Approved!

Greetings!
I enjoyed reading through your app, well written, plenty of
detail and over all a good app.
He certainly seems like an interesting fellow, given the little
run in we had in the tavern last night.
As it seems like your concerns have been adressed by my
colleagues already I will go ahead and give my thumbs up.
Approved!

Hello there!
Loitered at your Initiation RP for a bit. Sorry if these
ruffians were a bit mean. They get like that sometimes, tsk!
You had my approval at the application though. Very happy to
hear you had a specific interest in mind with your character and
RP. We do try to encourage creative and alternative solutions
to all our problems rather than just hitting things with an axe
or shooting it in the face. A silver tongue being one of them. I
hope you'll enjoy building up your character's skill set and
giving him a worthy purpose in the world.
Stick around long enough and you'll get to explore every aspect
of RPing a criminal of sorts. including consequence if that's
something you're still uncertain about.
Poppet.
