Ahote's application
By: Ahote Date: April 24, 2016, 5:12 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
With the sun on your back you stand, watching over a lush, green
valley. Beneath you, you can see wildlife moving around and the
patches of flowers that bring color to the sea of green seem to
be rustling in the wind. A smile curls around your lips as you
close your eyes for a moment, a sigh escaping your smirk as you
drift away into peaceful thoughts. All of a sudden, the ground
trembles lightly under heavy footsteps, your eyes are wide open
now as you reach for the blade in the scabbard on your hip, but
alas, as you turn around your chin bumps into what looks like
the sharp end of a spear, a droplet of blood falls down and
before you can utter a word it is too late, the spear finds it's
way to your throat, piercing it with easy as your arms flail to
grasp it, you look up and the last thing you see is a Tauren,
breathing calmly as he plants a hoofed foot on your chest to
free the spear from your bleeding throat. As he yanks it out
your world goes dark, you feel your body rolling down the hill
until you feel nothing anymore.
Ahote is this Tauren's name, and you were his prey.
Why does he want to join the sixty?
Ahote has been wandering the wide world on his own for what
seems like an eternity, he ran into trouble more than once and
due to his line of work, is frowned upon by most of his own
kind. He is looking for a certain companionship with people that
will not judge him for his actions and he wants to put his
abilities to good use.
What can he do?
Ahote wields the spear as if it had been part of his body since
birth, he has also received training in the ways of the druid
but that training had been cut short due to some unfortunate
events. (More details will be found further on in the
application.)He has retained his feral instincts so his sense of
smell and hearing is far above average for an ordinary Tauren,
which makes him a fearsome hunter.
What would his nickname be?
Beef. It is a name that has been chasing him for a while and
seems to be a common theme among things to call a Tauren. He
disliked it at first but he has grown accustomed and now uses it
often to introduce himself to others.
What is his background?
Ahote seems to be very secretive about his past, although it is
clear he has no love for his kin.
Does he have any specialties?
As stated before, Ahote is an excellent hunter and overall a
fierce opponent in battle. He doesn't back down easily, no
matter how hopeless the situation is.
And now, the OOC portion of my application:
I have been roleplaying outside of WoW for a while now and only
recently (Say, a month or two.) Started delving into the
wonderful world that is, WoW rp and I have been enjoying myself
tremendously. This would be my first real experience with this
kind of rp but I am looking forward to it none-the-less.
I would be happy to answer any more questions you might or might
not have.

Hello, thanks for applying!
I like the little story at the beginning, except.. YOU FCKING
KILLED ME YOU FOOL *declines*
....
No, I joke.
I do have some questions though!
First of all, what is his line of work? I am assuming it is
mercenary - does that mean he can adapt theft to be his primary
profession? A guideline the Thieves go by is no killing, for the
sake of their reputation as thieves. Skill with a spear is good
for combat, but we need to know Ahote can be titled a thief!
I am very interested about his history and how he came to do
what he does, but I suppose that will be left for RP to tell?
And as for the nickname, LOL <3 Beef x'D I think it is a good
one, except the members are urged to choose nicknames not yet
associated with their identity, so maybe think of a back up
unless you still think Beef is a suitable one!
thanks again :D

Hello there, and thank you for the interest!
The questions that come to mind are essentially what Fade stated
above - is he an actual criminal, and most importantly: does he
take from other people and thus be a thief? Also having similar
thoughts regarding the nickname; while I love it, if it's
already a nickname he uses perhaps it goes a bit against the
idea of having a codename, depending on how frequently it has
been used and what kind of acts can be tied to the name.
On another note.. Tauren applicants are not what we get often,
so definitely looking forwards to hearing more!

Hello,
Thank you for the lightening fast response,
He used to do whatever it took to make it another day, one day
stealing food and perhaps some coins out of someone's house, the
other day someone could have offered him coin to "rid the world"
of a certain individual and be done with it. Right now he is
mostly looking for some form of "stability" in a way, he has
done his fair share of killing, mostly in self defense, other
times for coin or services. He could very well let that part of
his life go and stick to thievery.
And I would indeed prefer to tell his story in an rp setting,
when he feels like telling it.
The nickname could be something different, I would have to give
it some thought and/or have to run into someone who provides me
with a decent alternative. It has been used by him to keep his
real name a secret, I would doubt that anyone out there knows
his real name, but as said, I would be happy to think of
something suitable.
Once again, thank you for the fast response!

Ah, I understand! Entirely understandable to want the stability
in his life with a group who would accept him for his ways!
Well, only one way to find out what I want to know about him,
and that is through RP...
I don't think I have any immediate requests and questions to
know about the character now, and so I will [b]approve[b] this.

You seem secretive to his past, which I totally understand -
there's no reason to spoil a good story on a public forum!
However, I think it'd be cool if you'd be willing to tell it
OOCly to at least a few officers. Simply because you say you're
new to Wow RP and I think it'd be good for us to check the story
works lore wise before it's too late to change it after a good
amount of RPing :)
I like tauren!

Tauren thief. I love the thought of as much as it weirds me out.
Having a hard time to see him climb into windows and sneak on
his hoofs.
From what I've gathered he seems perfect for a highway man (Or
what they are called)
As stated above. It would be nice if you actually told us his
backstory outside of the game since you are new. We dont want
you to be Thrall's hybrid son or something.
All in all, it looks like a good app, but remember; no killing
unless you have to, to defend yourself.

I would have nothing against discussing my story with someone to
verify if it is legit or not although it is rather simple and
doesn't really involve anything that could be lorebreaking, I
tend to check everything I am unsure about anyway but I do
appreciate the idea.
And no worries, like I said, he is not some kind of half
dragon-demon-child, it is quite a simple backstory as it is a
simple Tauren.

Thanks for the replies and clearing it up.
Feel free to contact any officer (Thalindor, Laerynna, Ireza,
Morduas, Erthamar or Einsam) online for a little chat regarding
his background.
Looking forwards to getting in touch in-game!
