Where are the nationals certificates....is this typically how US
       AT runs things?

Ok so I am new to this sport (sports mom...child is the one
participating). Maybe you all can educate me. But when the USAT
event manual says you get a medal and certificate when you
place, that means you actually GET those things right?
       Eventually? Sometime this decade?
I emailed a month after the event and was told they will be
mailed...I was told they would check on it and get back to me
but no one ever emailed me back.
I emailed 2 months after the event and was told they were mailed
"a while ago". Told to forward our info and they would
check...it's been a week since I gave them the info (which has
never changed btw) and I guess they have forgotten to get back
       to me.
I took a poll at our school and the other 4 medalists haven't
received certificates so I know the response that they mailed
them a while ago is told ally false. Anyone out there get
       theirs yet?
My last 3 emails this week have gone unanswered despite their
BOD minutes promising to respond in 24 hours.
So is this the typical way things are run for this sport? If it
is I can only hope my child finds interest in something else.
Do you think any sports news outlets would like to do a story on
how young kids and their parents pay a ton of money to attend an
event put on by an NGB only to have that USOC sanctioned
organization disappoint them and fail to provide them part of
their awards? Does anyone else feel like paying USAT membership
money is as good as flushing it down the toilet?

They usually print the certificates at the same time you get
your medal , they print the certificates and then send you for
photo where you get medal. I won't say you are SOL if they
didn't do it that way, but since they do not answer the phone or
email or follow up on promises, unless you have juice, you
       probably will never get it.
If you get lucky, you will get someone who is really nice and
will handle it. Changes are not good at this junction. Sorry.

I have an email dated 7/15/14 from the event coordinator that
they were "to be mailed out the following week". So I have
proof they were not handed out (at least on our day) and the
       intention was to mail them.
But they apparently missed many people in this mailing (if they
ever even did mail them) because I know several who have
       recieved nothing.
And now they ignore my many inquiries. Does anyone know where I
can file a complaint as a dues paying member on behalf of my
child? This is ridiculous. Please tell me these people are
volunteers and not actually salaried employees. I am not happy
and don't mind rattling as many cages as possible until they do
       their job properly.

Good luck. They are employees. That having been said, I don't
think anyone intentionally does this things, they are
understaffed and they are not good at proactive planning. In the
past, the lady who was at the photo booth handled that desk,
before USAT hacked her off, and granny made sure everyone got
       their certs asap.
Staff answers to bruce.harris@usa-taekwondo.us However, since
if you read the minutes of the board meetings you know there are
complaints that this does not get answers - try -
       johnsondevinc@gmail.com, Devin Johnson BOD Chair,
mrsethwilson@gmail.com, Seth Wilson - Club Director, John
Holloway Referee Director, llltkd@gmail.com (Lynda Laurin AAC,
spock@msu.edu (Ron Southwick AAC), and if you get no where with
that, I can come up with some more email addresses and phone
       numbers.

My guess is they don't even know where to find the certificates
at this point to make them.

This is the type of stuff that hurts TKD in general....Been
doing this to long to worry about certificates at Nationals but
it definitely drives away those new to the sport!!! Texas1991
and her child and all those like her are the future of our
organization...we need to focus on making their experience a
       good one!
Unfortunately for many the a TKD competition experience can be a
       frustrating!

Lady TKD...your advice is the best!
After far too many emails to the Director of Events and the CEO
that either went unanswered or were answered with "we will check
on that" followed by nothing but crickets, I took your advice
and found Sarah. SHE ROCKS! Talk about customer service...the
certificates are being delivered tomorrow. They should put her
in charge....she gets things done, answers emails, oh my.
People above her should follow her lead!

I had heard that she is very efficient. I also forwarded your
note to the Chair of the Board and a couple of BOD members.
Glad you were able to get someone moving!
