       What's Missing?

       There should be a USAT BOD Meeting a week from tomorrow, maybe
       someone can ask some questions.  Some has been made of the CEO's
       perspective which was basically 90% complaining about cheating,
       fighting, bad behavior. Sorry, even I won't complain about that.
       One coach out of how many got busted for scoring boards. Good
       for USAT for catching it. Now what did you do to him?
       Major smack talk. Ok - what's new? Wish it would stop? me too.
       Fighting in the stands? I think the best was the JO's in Vegas
       when Mark Williams was diving into the stands - seems they
       served beer to adults at that one. There have been some doozies
       on the floor - outside the ring. It's not right, not according
       to the tenets many espouse but it happens. Deal with it  -that
       is what is important - how did you deal with it? What are you
       doing to prevent it? But don't paint the thousands of parents
       who didn't do it with the same brush.
       The vast majority of athletes and parents went to Nationals and
       had a good time. Some things went wrong. Some went really wrong,
       but in general the parents of the first timers had no idea.  The
       more "inside" you are, the more you know about the glitches. The
       more irritating it is that the same problems re-occur and never
       get fixed. How many years have they blamed it all on Hangastar
       but it is never replaced?
       Anyway, I diverge - that is what is on the USAT site, so what
       isn't there?
       1. Staff reports from May and June.
       2. June BOD meeting Minutes
       3. The List of Appointed National Assistant Coaches - how many
       months has that been? four?
       4. The team lists and the support staff for the Cadets, as well
       as the Grand Prix.
       5. The Transparent Financial Accounting Promised 3/5/14 by the
       USAT CEO on the Aspire camps and the Junior and Cadet Teams. To
       date money has gone in to USAT and no one knows how much or
       where it went or how it was allocated. Tons of questions and no
       answers in an organization which constantly touts transparency
       and then gives none.
       6. Where is the communication?
       Maybe someone can get an answer from the BOD as nothing is
       forthcoming on the USAT site.

       Not much the BOD can or will say on any of this.  Posting to the
       web is an administration, not policy, issue.  Until the Board
       has had enough of the USAT looking like an incompetent amateur
       operation, nothing will happen.  The ONLY thing that will
       improve the operation of the USAT is a new CEO.  Nothing will
       improve until the Board gets serious and hires a real
       administrator.
