Head Kick Scoring....

Head kick scoring in inconsistent. Both AAU/USAT had lots of
poorly scored head shots that played to large a role in match
outcomes. Not talking bias here human error. If you lose your
card early it can really affect the match. I am willing to give
up face shot points to get electronic head gear.
We need human error out and electronic head gear in...if it is
lacking at least it will be fair to both sides.

I am hearing comments about the camera positions. I was sent
this photo as an explanation of why there is a problem here,
especially in cases of head kicks that are not scored. The
cameras have no operators and appear to be so close to two of
the referee positions as to only give the same view as that of
the referees. It was suggested that the cameras should face a
different direction than the referees to give different angles.
It's reported that this has caused several athletes to lose
points they should have scored on head kicks.

In 4 days of watching morning to night, it has been my opinion
that the judges have actually been very liberal in calling head
shots. Quite a few near misses scoring. I agree though that
the challenge card needs to be used judiciously with so many
calls to question.

Liberal/Stingy who new what would get called. This is not a
knock on the officials they work very hard and by late evening
they are to exhausted to make consistent calls. They effect the
matches that mean the most Finals/Semi Finals.
The only real answer is electronic head gear.
