Calendar says meeting is today. Marco says it is tomorrow. My
bet in on Marco. Maybe he had push them to post the agenda more
than an hour before the meeting?

Why would Safesport implementation be during Executive Session?
If they are discussing individuals facing discipline issues or
lawsuits, that is one thing. If they are actually discussing
implementation of Safesport, that needs to be discussed openly
in front of the membership. The fact that it has been thrown
together so haphazardly without being discussed by the Board and
without membership input has caused enough problems.

Here is my rule of thumb for a basis of good governance...
Every - behind-closed-door governance discussion needs to end
with a discussion of,
How much of this can we share?
USAT has proven itself to have interested individuals who want
to know what is up...
We have also witnessed purposeful restraint of information -
because it is easier.
This group does not come from that place.
At each meeting, I am impressed with the conscious effort and
willingness to look-out for the public trust (read members)
while not forsaking a commitment to individuals.
I am seeing real heartfelt dialogue.
The exec session included info that can be shared with the
membership.
Work is in place to document important determinations and
actions from the exec session so that the membership can see
where we are going.

Marco, I will believe it when I see it. I did see a couple of
the new members stepping up last night but the rest was business
as usual. BS in the extreme. Misstatements, out and out lies
that no cadet paid more than $2300. NO accounting of the Aspire
camps or the Junior team. in fact he contradicted himself first
by saying that that yes the Junior trip cost more than budgeted
but no Aspire money went into it, then he said yes Aspire money
helped. Which is it? We don't know because in spite of the
3/5/14 news item on the USAT site, there is no accounting of the
Aspire camps nor the Junior trip. What is going to happen is
that he is going to sit on it, promise transparency and hope
people get tired of the topic.
This board does most of its business in actions without meeting,
which they don't record anywhere.
The name of this game is accuse anyone who asks any question of
listening to the "INTERNET CONSPIRACY!" and if that doesn't
work, trot out the CEO's attorney whose job depends on the CEO
remaining in office and have him agree.
As I told my daughter too many times to count - (and this is
aimed at USAT and not you Marco) Don't tell me what you are
going to do - Just Do It!

Thanks for the update. I appreciate it and look to see more.
In the meantime there is a mess that needs cleaned up and the
more forthcoming the Board is, even if it needs to go around or
through the CEO to reach the membership, the better it will be
for the organization.
