USAT Membership Report

I listened in on last night's BOD meeting. I was just too
disheartened to write it up. One of the "highlights" was the CEO
report. In it was a report that was not provided to the
membership but the BOD members finally questioned the numbers.
According to the report, the USAT is down 1000 members from last
year at this time. There was no good explanation for it. I did
like Marco being 100% honest and saying that if you weren't
going to Nationals, why would you need a membership.
That was not the amusing part. Then Seth Wilson questioned how
Missouri could have only 4 members. I wondered that too. I
especially wonder that after pulling their 2014 State Qualifier
numbers. Missouri had 64 unique competitors at their state. So
60 of them didn't have to pay for USAT membership? Let's not
forget coaches and referees - so 80 or more didn't have to pay?
Missouri has 9 registered schools and the owner of said school
has to be a member, so 5 of them didn't pay?
It came up that Illinois had only 22 members. Really? It has 16
registered schools, so not more than 1 member per school? But
wait, Illinois had 598 unique competitors at states in 2014, not
counting referees and coaches, so at least 700 didn't pay?
Or someone didn't read the report and use some common sense
before giving it to the BOD?
