Designated Poomsae

**Designated Poomsae will be published a week, or so, prior to
the event start date**
World Class 2nd, 3rd and 4th Masters, Pairs and Teams compete a
week from tomorrow. Love the "or so" on the official posting.
Dare we hold our breath to see if anything is posted tomorrow?

They read this and the comment on the facebook ladytkd and
react. Several hours after someone posted a comment on my piece
regarding this subject, it was finally posted on the website.

They added this after so many coaches complained that the
poomsae for colored belts was not randomly chosen:
Designated Poomsae for ALL BELTS for the 2014 National
Championships, CLICK HERE.
After consideration of the issue, the Poomse for color belts
were chosen, not randomly selected, to offer a positive
tournament for the greatest number of players. All Black Belt
Poomsae, even for the youngest players, were randomly
drawn.
Another case of posting one set of rules and then working by
another set without telling anyone of the change. Coaches worked
hard with kids all year assuming the choice would be random.
Changing at the last minute smacks of backdoor dealings and
maybe (maybe not) benefiting certain unknown people.

From the pre-event manual:
"The 2014 National Championships will follow the WTF Cut Off
competition System (modified) for black belts. Contestants shall
perform one (1) assigned compulsory Poomsae in the preliminary
and semi-final rounds and two (2) assigned compulsory Poomsae in
the final round."
10 and under only have 1 designated compulsory Poomsae for the
final round. How hard would it be really to draw another
designate Poomsae for them?
When you post the rules and people pay entry fees, those are the
rules that need followed in the competition. No exceptions.
I get that the group in COS sees these little kids as nothing
but extra income, but many of them, and their coaches, see
themselves as serious athletes who work long hours day after day
all year long with Nationals as their goal. They deserve better
than the USAT has been giving them.
