Selection Procedures. Please tell me I read this wrong!!!

In the senior selection procedures it says:
       Selection System
       4: Performance Waivers
       d. Participants in the 2014 Grand Prix Final will automatically
be named to the 2015 National Team in the same weight category
they competed in at the Grand Prix Final. There will be no fight
       off in that specific category.
       ARE YOU Kidding Me!!!!
       So in Female 49, 57, 67 +67 and Male 58, 68 -80 and +80 (all
divisions we have someone from the USA participating) you win
the nationals, that's it? The end of the road? Thanks for the
money we'll see you next year? Is this why they waited until two
weeks before the nationals to post the selection procedures?
Tell me I'm reading this wrong!
Where is fighting for your spot? Where is the chance for the up
and coming fighter to get his/her shot? You can theoretically
stay on team without ever having to face a challenger in your
country. If this info was known earlier I bet those divisions
would have been pretty light this year! So that is also half of
       the world team picked already???

In my personal opinion, the usual trick to avoid allowing
certain people to run for office or to make the National Team,
the USAT just creates retroactive requirements. You have to had
gone to this event, or placed at this event, or refereed this or
that events - but those events all happened in the past and they
already know who did and who did not place, attend or referee.
It's extremely irritating. Let's rub it in that they have
pre-selected the teams, the appoints and definitely who they
       don't want in office.
Recently the USAT posted the 2015 Team Selection Procedures.
  HTML http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Taekwondo/HP/Athlete-Team-Selection-Procedures<br
/> One of my personal favorites here is that the 2015 Team
Selection has the "Cadets will be qualifying for the 2014 Future
       Stars Camp."
My least favorite is a retroactive selection procedure which was
posted right at the deadline for Nationals, after the State
qualifiers were over. No doubt had many of the 18-32 pipeline
known of this, they may still have competed, but some might have
gone to the Korean Open. Some might have gone to AAU and that
might be why this wasn't posted until the majority of
competitors had already registered for the USAT Nationals.
Seems that if a competitor is already on the Grand Prix team,
they automatically get the corresponding weight class position
for the World Championships in 2015. If there are two Grand Prix
competitors in the same weight/gender class - they fight it off.
So no one in those divisions competing at the USAT Nationals can
win the 2015 team spot no matter how well they do and who they
beat. USAT also did not post who is already qualified but a
number of people already figured that out, it is not that hard.
I don't have a problem with any of those people making the World
Championship Team. They worked hard and they went chasing points
to get there. Some may have had some assistance from the USAT in
going to events on USOC or USAT dime, but still they did what
       they had to do.
The problem I have here is that it is impossible for any athlete
in certain divisions to make the team under these procedures.
They knew that when they wrote them and they knew that when they
were posted after the initial deadlines. Since they knew that
some divisions are already a lock, why didn't they put this out
before? why present retroactive requirements? Why look even less
transparent then they already do? Why deliberately generate yet
another controversy? Why not be open?
No doubt the answer to that question is a) they procrastinated
on writing the procedures (I do know that for a fact), b) it
never occurred to them (based on past performance, that is also
logical) and c) since USAT piddled around getting what the rest
of the world figured out 2 years ago, no proactive plan was put
into place and now - well let's just say business as usual.
Frankly, this gets old. Just like the Safe Sport policy tossed
out without a lot of thought or care for the members, this was
also poorly executed. Will this ever end? Doubt it.

Looks like you have to be in the Grand Prix finals which is top
8 in the world. I have no problem with that but I have a
problem with the timing of the release of info. Just does not
       sit well.

This is the type of political b.s i cant stand for. Knowing the
usat, this decision and timing of the release of the selection
procedures had to be a premeditated decision knowing the effects
it would have on the athletes in weight divisions that have a
grand prix team member in. I can assure you if the usatf or usa
wrestling did this for their national teams, their membership
would be an all time low. If I find out one of my atjletes has
a chance for dual citizenship I advise and support the route of
dual citizenship all the way through. The current usat bod and
money grubbing koreans have the same mindsets and same
       interests. It's goddam hog wash
