Why no list of Assistant Coaches
By: TaekwondoDad Date: May 28, 2014, 1:42 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Well, I guess I will start the newest internet conspiracy.
1) Acceptance emails for the USAT Coaching Pool went out in the
beginning of May.
2) Recipients were instructed that the attached acceptance
letter needed to be signed and returned in a PDF format, no
later than 05/12/2014 at 12:00 pm Mountain Time
So, this should be pretty simple one would think. On May 13th
send out an email blast, post to the USAT Website, Facebook,
Twitter, etc a POSITIVE release announcing the names and
congratulating the new "Coaching Pool" members. Good PR,
positive stuff, maybe 5 minutes worth of work. Even if too busy
to do it on May 13th, do it on May 14th. Now I am sure that the
CEO, being the incredibly business minded individual he is, has
repeatedly ordered his staff to make the announcement. Right?
Well, as we are all aware, no such announcement has been made.
Instead we get emails from friends and associates letting us
know they have been selected. We see Facebook postings from
different coaches and their friends, but from the
USAT?....crickets.
Is it so terrible for me, as a USAT member, to want to know
which coaches have been selected? If indeed the decisions have
been made and acceptance letters signed and returned over two
weeks ago, what would be the harm in announcing it? What great
benefit could the management of the USAT possibly gain from
keeping its membership in the dark?
So, option #1 is the coaches have been selected, acceptance
letters signed, all is roses and puppy dogs in COS and the paid
staff is just too incompetent to post an announcement to the
membership.
While option #1 is entirely plausible (especially concerning the
incompetency of certain highly placed individuals) it is always
more fun to delve deeper and see what we can find.
What if the acceptance letters went out and certain recipients
objected to the terms set forth therein? What if the CEO, HP
and HC were alternating between begging and strong arming
coaches into accepting the terms of the acceptance letters?
What if certain assistant coaches wanted to do something really
silly like coach their own athletes who made team? Imagine the
outrage!
What if certain individuals very close to the HC were known to
have made phone calls last year in attempts to poach the
coaches' established athletes? Perhaps it should be the coaches
and membership who are outraged.
So, option #1: everything is fine with coach selection but no
one knows how to send an email or post to a website; or
Option #2: the new "management" has screwed up something as
simple populating an assistant coaching pool
Option #3: Everything is an internet conspiracy

I heard a rumor that they will not post the list until all
coaches have signed the agreement. List not posted. Read between
the lines.

From what I understand some of the coaches have not signed.
They will not send it out until all have signed.

Don't know for sure there should probably a time line for a
coach to accept.

And this surprises anyone? And is there anyone who doesn't know
the reason is that Jean and Juan disagree with the clauses in
the agreement?

So it's Jean and Juan holding this up, unfortunate. If they
don't sign soon will they be dropped from the coaching staff?
At some point a line in the sand would have to be drawn, I would
think, or will an exception be made for the Olympic coaches?

TKDDad, I am curious which established athletes did the HC
freinds attempt to poach? Or am I reading it wrong and that is
just hypothetical assertion? Why would he do that if has no
school in which he is actively coaching? As far as I know he
will only coach National Team Members at International Events.
Do you have any inside information that you could share? You
seem to have knowledge of these events.
