       CEO Clarifies Uniform Policy

Now this is all they had to say in the first place instead of
letting this spiral with denouncements that the State Manual had
not changed, when it had indeed changed.

The purpose of this communication is to clarify concerns about
the possible mandatory and exclusive wear of one brand of
uniforms and gear for State Championships in 2015.
There is no requirement for athletes to use only USA Taekwondo
brand gear and uniforms at State Championships.
USA Taekwondo strongly encourages our athletes to use USA
Taekwondo brand uniforms and gear so that our brand becomes more
visible, but once again, there is no requirement to do so at
State Championships, or at local USAT-sanctioned events.
Daedo and Vision are contracted as our National Sponsors/Vendors
and as such, it is our hope and desire that our members and
event participants will patronize them as much as possible.
States are free to continue to allow uniforms and gear of their
choice, as has been the practice in previous years.
We are aware that erroneous information was prematurely included
in the 2015 State Championships Manual, and on the Vision
website. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the early
       release of that incorrect information.
The information contained in this announcement is accurate and
is what should be adhered to.

The Competition Rules on the USAT website for Referees -

       1) Official Uniform (Dobok)
All contestants must wear a white Taekwondo V-neck USAT/WTF
       uniform (dobok)
in good condition. Black Belts must wear black-collared

wear white-collared uniforms; color belts cannot wear
       black-collared uniforms.
Patches, embroidery, logos, team names, country names, athlete
       names, and stripes
are permitted on the uniform; they can be up to 12" x 4" on each
       extremity (leg or
arm) for a total of four. Logos or names on the back of the
       uniform and patches on the
chest area of the uniform are also allowed.
NO TAPE WILL BE ALLOWED ON ANY PART OF THE UNIFORM. (Exception:

Aha! So the source of all of the "rumors and disinformation"
       steps forward ....
How about, "we apologize to those of our membership that
actually reads the information published by USAT and its
vendors, and for accusing them of actually reading it."

A clarification from the USAT is laughable....
