Team Trials and Canadian Open on the Same Day??

USAT announced friday that the Senior Team Trials will be
February 13-15th. Ok. Las Vegas. Ok.

Now to the perplexing part - the Canadian Open is a G1 event
where some of those people might be planning on attending to get
points. Want to guess the dates of the Canadian Open?

Anyone know why they did this? Did it occur to them that the
Canadians might take offense to this and maybe not send a large
contingent to the US Open? After all Mexico is having its
Nationals the same time as the US Open. Anyone think this will
hurt the US Open numbers? I do!

Steve McNally is the marketing director for USAT and I have
heard he is trying to sort out the mess at USAT which creates
all these conflicts. So far, he hasn't had much success. Seems
like USAT only cares about the money it makes, not the athletes.

More so there are few with institutional knowledge working for
USAT so they make rookie mistakes. They are careless and don't
know the bylaws and on and on.
