bought myself this beast, a hatsan escort mpa 12ga 3" magnum, 3
shot (magazines restricted). i played with it in the shop a few
times and my willpower finally failed this week ;D not sure how
good itll be for clays/crows/pigeons etc, as its got fibre optic
ghost rings sights, so would be more of a fox/boar gun, etc, but
im picking it up tuesday (hopefully) so be interesting to see
how it performs.
heard quite a few bad reports about hatsans when they first came
out, but quality seems to have improved a hell of alot from
early models ad plenty of people get on ok with them, so i
thought why not. on top of that the gun comes with a 3 year
warranty, so any problems and itll be sorted :)
now, the only remaining question is should i buy the optional
door buster choke or not.... ::)

na mate, the mossberg pump action is used to wind everyone up at
the clay range, especially as they dont realise its set up
better for busting clays than most o/u's lol
from what i was told any more than 2+1 isnt legal for hunting,
these hatsans are made as i think 7+1 but the one im buying has
been restricted to 2+1. thats what the shop told me and the said
the feo in their area had checked the guns out too, but i double
checked with a couple of snap caps to be sure. i'm still not
100% sure if im making a mistake getting rid of the mossberg 930
semi auto, i spent alot of time and effort getting it running
smooth, the balance right, adding mid beads, etc, but in reality
the chances of the psni allowing me to have 4 12ga shotguns is
slim, plus when i go shooting i have to spend 5 mins deciding
which shotgun to take, either the semi auto or the pump, and
things are only going to get worse when i get my old double
barrel back on the licence :-\ so might as well trade in the
semi auto for this - at least if i decide to go boar hunting
again a few years or join a club and take up practical, etc,
then ive got the perfect gun, ill just need to get a new mag
tube for it then

shot the boar in latvia few years ago, got a free trip ;D was
seeing/living with a latvian girl and we went over to visit her
family, so her brother decided to take me out boar hunting along
the russian border (january time, so -20 degrees and snow up to
your knees) to see if i was man enough for his sister ::) so
after a couple of slight incidents with some ex communist party
big wigs (who didnt want me hunting, though i think wearing a
british army jacket didnt help matters) and me accidentally
wandering across the border into russia (bit of a one man armed
invasion, stayed 10 mins, had a smoke and a piss, then left
again) we got a 23 stone wild boar, it took 5 shots of 7.62x39
to put it down.
her brother invited me back to hunt duck, beaver, pheasant,
deer, elk, etc, any time i wanted, with as much vodka as i could
stomach lol unfortunately the girl was a nut job and i had to
get rid of her, was a hard decision, especially as her brother
was going to let me buy an sks (semi auto forerunner of the
ak47) in latvia for £200 and leave it on his licence to use over
there any time i wanted - i think the fact i gave all that up
proves how much of a nut job she was lol :/

lol na she was just mental, can only deal with so many crying
fits, constant bitching and flying crockery lol
most of the hunts ive seen advertised are expensive as hell, but
im working on a few alternatives, know a few polish fella's so
gonna talk nicely to them at some point and see what they come
up with, call in a few favours. dearest thing is flying your own
gun over, last time i went to latvia flights were gonna cost
£300 more to bring a gun than not bring one, tho in my mind its
worth it - when youre standing knee deep in snow, froze to the
bone in a thick forest populated by bear, boars, wolves, etc,
which could be within 20 yards before you spot them, then you
dont want to be fumbling about with an unfamiliar gun lol
