I am a BASC member and will contact the basc director Tommy
Mayne about this. He has had meetings with the forestry service
and knows what they want to hear. There was a little on their
site about it recently.
Heres the link

Anything in particular I should say or ask. I will mention we
wish to take it as a group as part of the forum. Are we going
for Gortnamoyagh then?

he is bound to have a completed copy of the management plan or
an example, get whatever he has
i would ask about the syndicate idea, as there may well be
certain rules and regulations with regard to syndicates,
insurance etc,
i wouldnt like to think that the person who puts their name to
the lease gets held personally responsible for the actions of
others, that would not be fair, i'm sure everyone who wants in
would have their own insurance.
i think the whole safety aspect is one of the main things the
forestry want to hear, like putting signs up when shooting to
warn public, experience of shooters, any shooting
qualifications, awareness of backstops etc etc just the usual
safety stuff

umm guessing most have never shot in a forest,,,,,its a pain in
the ass,, big trees few open spaces only tracks to try and flush
anything and usually very little there,,,, and a bigger problem
to consider if say 15 ppl go in on this and say you can go when
ever you wish which is only fair it wont take long before
anythin is scared away oh yea and i forgot its gortnamoy,,,thats
the biggest reason its only few quid.....lol
i have access to forestry and you never know who has been before
you everyone takes the same tracks cause when fully grown there
is no point trying to go thru the trees nothing in there... and
boy do you need a good dog and be fit, there is easier forms of
shootin out there
