The best way to find out if you would be allowed to hold a
firearm certificate is to apply for one. if its not granted you
dont pay anything or loss anything. Go to a firearms dealer,
pick a gun get your references, permissions to shoot send all
off and see how it goes. I know folk who have been in all sorts
of trouble who now own large caliber rifles and many shotguns.
The speeding tickets will have no impact on your application but
do mention them on the forms.

I was always told they looked on driving drink offences less
favorable .. But as said apply be honest don't hide anything ...
If you have no convictions you have no convictions ... If
processed you can speak with your FEO about your checkered past
... Lets just say I have a licence and have a colourful past ...
       Nuff said good luck

       Hi welcome to
As said before be honest! If you go into a firearms dealer they
will do you a receipt to say you are interested in buying a
firearm with which you can apply on. Then once the certificate
is passed you can buy a firearm and send in the serial number.
Saves you payin a deposit if your worried they might turn you
       down!

       Hi Mate,
I have a few friends that received Fire arms
certificates and they have had a few run ins with the law, so to
speak. The one thing that I would STRONGLY advise you is that
you are TOTALLY honest in your application. No matter how small
you may think an offence might have been then put it down, even
if you just got a caution from the police put it down. They will
not refuse you a certificate for driving offences only. Don't
hide anything because they will find out and it will make it
both harder and longer for you to get your certificate...

All the best and good luck Mate,

       MD.

As woodcock says just apply, its YOUR RIGHT to own a firearm and
they need a good reason not to give it to you, i would try
straight away especially if time has lasped since you were in
bother, if they refuse, just keep sending it back everytime!
