Get winchester subs. U wont need anything else. Was hitting cans
at 150 yards no probs with em. Using a cz452 and a marlin.

I used to use Elley. Great round. I think i had a bad batch of
them recently. 1 out of 10 rounds never fired but instead made a
slight pop from it. Winchester have never failed me yet.

U wouldnt really need hv rounds m8. Subs are capable of most
jobs. R u planning in shooting them pesky wabbits??

At the time a bought the Ruger 1022 the gunshop advised me to
buy high velocity rounds for at least the 1st 1000 as a new
rifle is tight and the higher recoil from HV rounds allow the
working parts to cycle better, so I have been using Winchester
Power Points (hollow point high velocity) all the time with no
       problems.
Any truth in this guys or was I just given a speel of bullshit?

The dealer is probably right. The action will slacken off after
so many rounds, but I don't know if it'll ever get to the stage
where it'll cycle subsonics reliably. High velocity rounds tend
to be less accurate than subsonics for some reason. You don't
need them for vermin control anyway. If you are struggling with
the 10/22 in terms of reliable feeding, swap it out for a bolt
action. More reliable, less noise and more accurate as standard.

Cheers Dan tho I have had no problems with the wee 10/22 infact
I think it is a great rifle and any in accuries and misses I
have tend to be my own fault wheather its my shakey hands or
rushing shots I dont know because when I go back to the bench to
       test zero its 100%.

If your shooting ok with it then crack on and don't worry about
my purist bolt action attitude lol. It's all about finding the
right ammo for your gun. It is possible to find a subsonic and a
high velocity round that are both accurate through the same
barrel. I find that CCI Mini Mag Hollow Points are just as
accurate as Winchester Subs out of my rifle. The point of impact
is 3" higher at 50 meters, so practice is needed with both
rounds to ensure confident shots on quarry. Get yourself a
couple of boxes of standard velocity rounds to test. Anything in
and around 1100 fps. They will be quieter through a moderated
rifle and would cycle the 10/22's bolt more reliably than subs.
