out the day before the snow comes

took the dog out this mornin for an hour before this snow that's
forecast comes (if it comes) if it comes it could be the end of
our shootin for the season if we get the amount they say we're
gonna get.
Hunted a few spots for a woodcock but nothin but then I spotted
the dog huntin like mad and up got this boy about 25 yards away
at the other side of some old heavy bushes but I saw just enough
of him to know him down, I was't sure if I'd killed him or not
but I saw Bud pickin him up about 7/8 yards from were he fell
but he wasn't dead so I'd to ring his neck, believe it or not
this is the first wild pheasant I've shot this year, I think I
put this boy up about 6 weeks ago as he's the only mentalist
pheasant I've saw were I hunt - he's the only pheasant I've seen
hunt too come to think of it ! I hunt on for an hour but
never seen another feather but I was happy enough for Bud to
flush and retrieve his first wild pheasant ;D I could get'm to
smile for the camera the day :-\

the wee woodcock gun will fall out wit ya if you start shooting
them lol. bud didnt want to take his eyes of it, even for a
photo lol, well done!!!!!!!

quite looking forward to the snow as theres more movement from
the ducks round our way ,with plenty of teal on the river gives
for some sporting shots

Yeah monty it's a brownin white lightening 20 bore - just got it
before Christmas there

It,s still got a similar profile tomy browsing 323 grade 1 from
20 yeas ago. Much better finish than mine and lookin a million
times better plus I,m sure the actions and tech involved aw much
improved! Mind you you still can,t beat browning!
