Is that for me brendy? Yes when i kill an animal its either a
pest and needs checking, or i eat it, i dont like to use the
word "sport" for killing any creature!

i shoot all year, varies between fox/rabbit and pigeons/crows at
different times, though thats more to do with whats about and
the conditions of the fields at the time (no point going after
rabbits if the grass is 2 ft tall lol)
ive never felt comfortable with the idea of sport either, i
shoot for pest control or for meat, only thing that i would
class as sport is snipe and woodwock, which i do once a year (if
even). if a farmer wants something shot ill shoot it and be
grateful im allowed on his land, but again this could turn into
an argument, theres no right answer to it :-\

i guess its all just down to personal preference then? as
several people have said i guess if i was asked by the farmer id
shoot whatever he wanted. but during the spring il just keep
myself busy with the fishing :)

I usually shoot all year round, but the crows I give a respite
to when they have young. Rabbits I shoot all year round, as I do
foxes (although I always try to take out the cubs first) and
pigeon, I give a respite too, unless they start on the farmers
feed in the barns in which case they get whacked too. If its a
really hard winter, I will also hve the birds a respite, and
sometimes even the foxes and rabbits, but you don't get really
hard winters here lol ( the last two are very mild compared to
most I've been through in Germany and Switzerland, Italy etc)
so, generally they don't get a rest unless its when they have
young.
