I saw this a long time ago and I saved it, I thought wc1 you'd
like to see it, I hope they weren't all shot in the one season
;) I know the lad that shot them but I never asked him about
the picture

I took a photo like that one time. It caused some ruckus on
pigeon watch when I said I had shot them in one day. Think that
was the first time I upset you Semi. Saved up a whole seasons
birds in their feathers. Someone told me at that time they kept
better in the feather as it stops freezer burn. They never get
staying in the freezer for long now if they even see it. I just
breast them now. Last year I hadn't a bird left by March,
luckily the fishing started.

yeah I remember that photo :-\ ah I think I'm mellowin in my
old age (46 btw :D) I would hopefully say the lad that took that
pic had them birds in a freezer for a game dealer - not sure
though. I ate 2 woodcock today that the wife roasted in the oven
and they were lovely, these 2 were quite fatty birds but had
lots of meat on them, the wee bit at the front of the two breast
was very think and tasty
