Where to locate the pigeon flapper in decoy pattern...

Hi guys,
I've just got a pigeon flapper from Crawford Sports and wanted
some tips on where relative to the decoy pattern it's best
placed. For example on a 'U' shaped decoy layout I found the
floater works best upwind of the 'U' so as not to disturb
pigeons approach. I'm mostly over drillings or stubble (barley,
maize).
Any thoughts appreciated...

i found just on the outside of the pattern in to the wind

Same as duckdoo. On the outside of the pattern so the pattern is
still inviting to other birds. Put it in the middle of the
pattern and you risk having the birds land where you don't
intend them to.

i think in the pattern it they see it as one liftting out
