Having bought a used Ruger m77 all weather I was very
pleased to see it grouping very well after reducing the trigger
pull from 6.5 lbs to 3,25, bedding the barrel and relieving the
barrel from the fore stalk. about 1/2 in at 100 Mt I was then
baffled when the groups went nearily back to where they where
about 2 to 3 in . I had changed the mod for a lighter one and
thought that was the problem. After getting my old mod back it
was still not shooting right. I was trying everything, removing
camp tape , worring about the scope, bulit consistency.
Not having a level range to sight in I was on a slope higher on
the left.
I was having a bit of a problem with the bipod and after a bit
of work on it it was on good and tight. But the bipod was still
moving, the all weather fore stalk was twisting causing the
barrel to contact the stalk on one side or the other. I now
think I have found the problem but will need a new stalk to fix
it. I cannot believe how flexible the fore stalk is.
Has anyone else had similar problems? or suggestions.
