       Ban snares campaign

       Earlier this week, Belfast City Councillors backed an Alliance
       Party motion calling for the Northern Ireland Executive to bring
       in new legislation  for a “ban on the use and sale of snares for
       the purposes of capturing or killing animals” and to “outlaw the
       hunting of mammals with dogs”.
       Clearly, this campaign has implications not only for those who
       use working dogs for shooting but also those who use snares as
       effective and humane method of predator control.
