Newbie to FAC PCP. 177 or .22?
By: Pauldevlin84 Date: February 11, 2015, 10:40 am

Hi guys, any help would be great here as I'm having a bit of a
dilemma. I am after an FAC rifle and have 2 options in front of
me at the minute, both second hand. A nearly new daystate
huntsman regal in .22 or a mk3 in .177? I won't say where I'm
looking but the guy in the store says .177 will take out rabbits
no problem at longer ranges and that he thinks the mk3 is a
better gun. I've always had the idea that .22 was better for
hunting (rightly or wrongly). I can get both for roughly the
same money. I was originally all in for the huntsman regal but
the electronic regulating system on the mk3 is starting to
appeal to me - though im not sure about it in .177? Any
thoughts??? Or opinions of the mk3 .177 FAC on reliability or
accuracy?

Up to you. Both cracking looking guns. Only thing puts me off
on the mk3 Daystate is the electronics. I would stick to the
Regal.
Not much can go wrong with them.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know or have you heard of anybody
having bother with the mk3?

I know a guy who had serious bother with
the Daystate Air Wolf. All electronic too. He
had to send everything back to Daystate and cost
a small fortune.

Check the Regal for shot count, it does not have a big tank
although enough for your average hunt, think there is the regal
extra which has a slightly bigger tank and therefore a few more
shots per charge.
Both top notch guns for accuracy from reports/reviews.

Plenty of shots. Have to admit the regal is one of the best
looking guns i have seen in years.
Good luck. Get pics up when you get it.
