       Had my interview!

Just had interview for initial fac application. App in end of
November if that helps others gauge where the list is at.
Think it went ok. I've been told I will need someone to
supervise me for 6 months. Not sure who to ask yet. I
understand the requirement but wasn't aware of that possibility
before I applied and was reading on here.
Bit closer but not there yet.

I'm trying to work out who to get to cover supervision part. I
think feo wants a name of a person with a similar gun. I'm
wondering if it has to be that person each time or is it okay to
be out with someone with a licence each time. Sort of like
learning to drive, out with someone who has a licence and
       experience.
I will appreciate the chance to learn from someone with
experience but cud be a big ask for one
       nominated person.
       Any words of advice?
       Thanks

What part the country you from? Lots of folk on here always
happy to pass on their experience. Shouldn't think it would have
to be the same person every time tho.

Im near Lisburn and getting hopefully a tx200. I've been
reading myself and others around me stupid. Youtube addict.
Planning a clean relube and possible refit of spring guides
seals etc. And yet tonight it feels as far as ever.
Im not sure where to find guidelines on what acceptable for
supervisor. Its alot to ask of someone.
I don't think I had the clubs understood right either. Id hoped
in time to join one to be able to use ranges to practice and get
good technique but I now understand if I have vermin on licence
I'd have to apply for targets on licence too. But u have to be a
member a year until you can use your own gun there. Please
       correct me if wrong.
Heads a bit melted. This licence isn't easy. I understand but
       still a pain.
       Thanks

Doesn't have to be the same person, it only has to be someone
who has the same rifle for 2 years or more. could be tom
today, dick tomorrow and harry the next day.
Its also none of the FEO'S business as to who takes you out.
they have no right to ask for a name.
as for a club, iv never been a member, but I think the year wait
only applys to owning a handgun (must be a member for 1 year
before you can apply for one).
I think you can just turn up with a rifle (someone will clarify
       that )
6 months go in quick, even if you never used it, after 6 months
       you can go out yourself.
       best of luck.

Think I'll email the feo for clarification on who can supervise.
He said they would probably accept someone with shotgun
licence. There's not a lot of air gunners around here. It would
be easier if didn't have to be same person. :-)
Im also wondering how the law sits around hft. Our n Ireland
       situation makes things difficult.
Thompy ur not that long started are you? How have you found
       getting practice and getting going?
       Thanks again

no need to email the feo , it clearly states on your licence,
that your given permission to shoot the said rifle on condition
that you are supervised for 6 months by a person who has held
this weapon for 2 years or more. (to that effect, not those
       exact words)
if he said someone with a shotgun on their licence would
do..... that's nonsense. How can someone with a shotgun train
you on using the air rifle safely when they have never owned
       one?
no matter if its your 1st or 3rd rifle/shotgun etc you will have
the 6 month supervision on your licence.
Im out of my supervision period for the airrifle, but still in
it for the shotgun, then will have another 6 months for the
       rimfire.
To be honest, I wouldn't get hung up on that, you have plenty of
time before you even receive your licence, take a break, chill
and wait till then before you start to worry.
yes im not that long started, getting practise and going is no
problem. Iv a couple of guys on the forum who "supervise" me.
