Stolen Traps

This post is by way of a warning for clubs in a similar position
to ourselves. There's a wee "once a month" sporting clay club
just outside Lisburn, Lisburn Rod and Gun Club. I belong to it.
We meet in a working quarry and keep our throwers and clays in a
locked container. We went to setup our Boxing Day shoot on
Friday morning and discovered the door of the container was
closed but the lock was missing, some scumbags had been in, took
two Farley manual throwers on us, these are the red pull the
lever to cock and push to release traps. This is a significant
loss for us as at the moment we don't have the resorces to
replace them. I reckon they were stolen to order or, (hopefully
not) stollen by clay shooters. It wasn't for the scrap metal
value as there is lots of scrap metal all around the quarry and
some even in the container in the form of a couple of scrap
traps. The container is situated in a quarry where many people
move about during most of the day and the owners even live quite
close but the theives can wait for their chance.
So be careful lads, I shoot all around the country and I know
what other clubs stand to loose, these things are financially
almost impossible to insure against theft, we did try some time
back. If we get anything else stollen we may have to disband.
