Hatsan Mod 85

Lookin at one of these new at the minute. Dealer has an
85XTHwhich is the thumbhole version as well which is a lovely
looking gun, but I am a leftie and these are only done for right
handed shooters, so its the standard 85X I'll consider. Dealer
says these are full power rifles, 29-30ft/lb?
Has anyone got one, any experience with this rifle? I don't
want to spend much more than the £150- £175 the above two cost.

Dont know much about yhis model. Had the Hatsan
60s. Was great with power but accuracy wasnt great.
If your looking a springer, Id try and go for a Air Arms
or HW. My Air Arms tx200 is doing 17.5ft/lb but is really
accurate.

Saw that one but thought 30 ft lb was a bit much for a springer.
Try it out but i think there would be a bit too much recoil with
it in terms of accuracy. The american market love their powerful
springers if you look on youtube.
Best bet is to try 15-20 shots at least and see what you think
it feels like yourself.
I ended up saving a few more pounds and getting a good 18ft lb
springer.

Only direct experience I heard of was a member of the local clay
club who was in the shop when the dealer was showing it. He had
bought one a few weeks earlier and said it was excellent. Had
already shot dozens of birds etc in his garden. Never mentioned
any direct issues.
