Shortage of snipe?

Went out in the afternoon yesterday and didn't see one snipe
where I'd expect to. Mainly boggy grass fields, few wee mossy
areas and plenty of good spots along the Lagan.
Any other areas that would be similar, have always produced, so
what do you think?
I know that the weather might be an issue, or maybe not.
Let me know what you think.

I see a good few snipe when out at the woodcock. I dont really
be in the "right ground" to see big numbers as I usually stay to
the hedges and cover but flush some when crossing areas of open
ground. I havnt noticed there being any fewer. They are
fantastic sport but as I dont eat them I dont shoot them. If I
knew someone who ate them I could have a great days sport round
home here.

Our bogs use to have a pile of snipe. I was out shooting and
have only seen one so far. But there seems to be plenty of
woodcock around.
