       DIY night vision

Any one else give it a go yet. Got a IR illuminator but have to
order the rest of the gear yet.
Stuck it onto a wee night shot camcorder i have and could see
       out to 40-50 yards.
Is a good quality bullet camera most important so as to pick up
the ir light, which one does anyone recommend.
Seen a couple in previous posts but any advice appreciated as
wanted to try something new apart from the torch.
For rimfire so out to 100yds plenty.

I've an ej230 bullet camera that I use with an ultrafire 501B
with a DaveG IR pill and an AHorton lens. Haven't had a chance
to use it in anger yet, but can see to 100yd easily, and can see
the outline of trees at 200yds. From what I've read, the better
the quality of the camera, the less IR is needed.

       Flatliner missed a word there,
       I or you......
You are right if you we're referring to me, but it is working
daylight hours, Just need to connect to the gun and remove the
IR filter in the camera. Missing one connection but bodged one
       just to check it out.
A few days should have the first on gun check out at night to
see if it works for its intended purpose.

Actually i think you can change that, nothing straight forward
for me, broke the f*****g camera last night. Tried to take the
IR filter off, well what i thought was the filter and it was
stuck fast to the board, tried to prize it off and broke the
       thing.
Where did you get your camera? Cant be bothered waiting on
       delivery from China again..

       I got mine from sure24.
Did the ir filter itself break or did something else go with it
when you prised it off? I know mine took a good bit of force to
       get it off.

Tried to get it off but it was not moving at all, was superglued
on lost the bap a bit and broke a couple of pin connectors off.
Hate the thought of having to pay for another one so will have
to shelf it for a few weeks to get a few pound again.
       Shite...
