first time out

well I got a chance at dinner time to hunt our moss after the
Castle pheasant shoot, it was my first chance to get a shoot
from my new Brownin 20 bore, I shot 3 pheasants earlier with my
Dads 20 Bud made 3 brilliant retrieves from the Ban river with
it very high and fast, he'd never even retrieved a bird from the
river in normal flow before today and he was brilliant, one
wasn't dead and ended up back in the river with bud after him
like a shot.,so then to the moss, I hunted the hedges around the
field on the way down and just about 20 yards the end of the
hedge bud put out a woodcock so up went the new 20 and bang down
came the woodcock ;D ;D ;D ; boy I felt like a dog with 2
dicks, I've always got this thing about a new gun that if I
don't kill with the first shot the gun will have bad luck for
me, I've no ides were that came from ::) anyway I hunted for an
hour and put up another 3 woodcock but only frinin a shot at one
of them, to be honest I shouldn't have shot at it as they were
too many branches between us but it looked so redish orange I
got got carried away with the new gun forgettin it was only a 20
bore, awh well I'm home happy as a pig in it up to the henry
halls.

cheers woodcock I'd a great day with the retrieves bud had out
of the flooded river and the blind retrieves across the race
bank and then get me a chance at my first woodcock with the 20
bore ;D ;D
how'd you get on yourself today --- any pics ?

cheers about the pics, yeah I'd go there ever 2 weeks when my
dad shoots or if we've no clays on - where you from mate ?
