       Re SACS insurance

Morning lads, just a wee heads up about a possible interest for
       some of you........
With the "Moira" Fair, and others, not long away, a few of us
have grouped together to get SACS membership at £28 per year
instead of the individual rate of £35.
Membership runs from end of May/begin of June which ties in with
the "Moira" Fair, at the end of the month.
It's a simple set up. Just use the PDF direct debit membership
form on the SACS website , post the form to me, and by mid June
you've got yourself signed up. Then each year, you get a
reminder in the post and can just let the Direct Debit do the
rest! Need a mem for? I'll post you one!
Renewal reminders come to me as well as you, so all I do is
email you and check alls ok.
Or, if cash, or card is your thing, then call in at the SACS
tent at Moira and do it there. And stay for a chat.........
Just give me a PM if you think you can make it, so I can put you
       down on the list.
I know lots of lads have their renewal at other times, and I've
tried to help them group together as well, to receive a wee bit
of this discount. Sorry, if I've not been in touch with anyone!
Remember, you receive the same SACS benefits and services as an
individual or with the reduced rates........
       Here's the pdf form
  HTML http://www.sacs.org.uk/images/SACS%20Membership%20Form_1395839094897.pdf
       And SACS mem details
  HTML http://www.sacs.org.uk/folder-4-join-or-renew
Don't be afraid to speak to Elspeth at the SACS office if you
want for direct info on +44(0)1698885206.
       Cheers, monty

im due renewal in september, 1 thing that concerns me is
the way SACS have now changed they way they will deal with
things if sumone is gonna get charged with sumthing or have a
FAC revoked then unlike the old way they got a solicitor onto it
for you i think they now decide which case they will fight/take
to court so in orther words if you are fucked then SACS will
wash their hands off you, can you confirm this monty

Hi MB, the SACS Dec 2013 newsletter is handy to read, though
there's a lot to it. The basics of the legal fees expenses
       cover are ......
It's still there at £10k and SACS are self insuring so no cost
       to members for this cover.
It was £100k but that was the total annual limit so now it's
       £10k each.
The speed of action will get faster to help with members
       assistance.
New applications for certificates are covered, as are all
       licensing problems.
No set limit on the amount SACS can pay out.
       Though, there are changes ......
No assistance/cover for anything which began before someone
joined SACS (or if your membership lapses). A legal
       requirement.
No assistance for anyone who deliberately flouts the law in any
way. That would be condoning the offence.
       Some recommendations too ......
That members notify SACS as soon as they become aware of even a
       possible problem in the future.
That members be up front and honest when they tell SACS about a
problem (though it's treated in the strictest of confidence).
And in the real world ........
Information to members that "it would be stupid of us to
continue to use members funds to finance a case where you choose
not to follow the legal advice you are being given, and it is
very unlikely we would consider doing that."
And Apparently, in cases in the past, where solicitors said a
case was unlikely to be successful (while the member chose to
continue using their own funds), the member lost in court.
Not sure if that covers your concerns, MB, im not a legal expert
but I have taken what I can from the Newsletter to try and help.
Certainly the SACS team at Moira/Balmoral will Defineltly be
able to answer any questions in detail.
       Cheers, monty

Moira's now Balmoral Park, or the Maze/Long Kesh.
The directions are on the website at
  HTML http://www.countrysidefestivals.com/maze/find-us
By the way here's the basic info about the NW Fair.
The North West Countryside Festival is an all-new event planned
for Shackelton Park, Ballykelly on Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th
       August 2014.
