       Does anyone use pointed pellets?

Im currently using pointed pellets in my BSA superten, ran out
of domed ones and my local shop has none, it likes Crosman
       premier.
I find that they are over penetrating, im shooting starlings and
all i see is a puff of feathers and they fly on. (27ft/lb is a
       bit overkill)
Wat u boys think of them?

pointed pellets are crap they tend to shoot all over the place,
get yourself a tin of bisley pest control, we use them all the
time for shooting feral pigeons the pellet doesnt pass through
       them,

I also find the pointed one are not accurate at all, I use JSB
jumbo or air arms own brand in my S510 and find them very good,
pointed ones might be ok in sub 12ft lbs

Used pointed pellets years ago and as you say they just pass
through whatever you shoot , I honestly find that the standard
domed type pellets are the best . I use jsb exact heavy in my
rifle and would use crosman premier now and again , but find
they just aren't as accurate in my rifle . Thinks it's the
weight , my s510 seems to like the heavier pellet .
I tried the promethous dynamic pcp just to see what they were
like and they are rubbish total waste of money !!!!

       I thought starlings were protected.
       edit.
Just checked and they are still allowed in northern Ireland.

My gun is more accurate with the crosman than Bisley. I tried
Bisley super field and crosman was more accurate.

All air rifles are different , some like one type of pellet and
another rifle of the same make and model will like a different
pellet . That's something I have never really understood as the
machining processes used today should make the barrels more or
less identical . But sure it's a bit of craic trying different
pellet and trying to find the best ones that suit your rifle .
I also put a small drop of lubricant on my pellets , seems to
reduce the amount of flyers I get plus it couldn't be a bad
       thing for the barrel .
