Warning for Dog Owners
By: crazyfool Date: May 6, 2014, 4:27 am

Hey guys.
Been a while since iv been on here. Just a warning for some of
you so you dont end up making the same mistake that happened our
dog. My dad is a keen gardener and had put down some slug
repellant around some peas he had planted. The problem here
being that our dog ended up eating some of these pellets
somehow. Might seem obvious now but this was poisin for the
dog. We never seen her eat the stuff. She started shivering
and jumping about so we rang the vet. Vet was on call so had to
wait a couple of hours. Slug repellant goes straight to the
organs. Dog spent the night with the vet and unfortunately
didnt make it.
This was an honest mistake and a very regrettable one. My dad
is now blaming himself for the death of the dog. Hes obviously
distraught over it. After some research we also found that even
if the dog hadn't of died she could have had some serious health
problems. Hope this helps someone avoid same said mistake with
their dog. So anything you put down double check it. This was
our first dog and she was still young. Hard to believe how
attached you can get to an animal.
Sorry if this is common sense but as said i hope it helps
someone.

sorry for your loss, dogs become family and heart breaking
when something like this happens ,i ve had a serious problem
with slugs and have used slug pellets before ,like most people i
store my dog food in a black plastic bin and used to see slug
trails over the top of the meal at times and have had to throw
out bin loads of food before putting the bin inside a shed this
seems to have stopped the problem
hope your father through time decides to get another dog
