Variation put in, cheque cleared funds out of my account.

I put in a variation the week before easter for a .223, i am in
the Antrim area, i only got a letter saying that they have
recieved my application and thats all i have heard from them. I
checked my bank account and see they have takin out the £26,
does mean they are going to grant me the rifle because i thought
they would do all their checks first before cashin the cheque,
because i thought they would check my permissions and check my
gun cabinet because its full and i had to put in another one.
Wat u's think boys?

Maybe they keep the fee whether the cert is granted or not

A couple of times I've had my variation back to me weeks before
the cheque is cashed. But the last variation I got back 3 days
after the cheque was cashed.
I've had the licence back before I get the letter sating they
have my application!!!

Got a call from Firearms officer in Antrim today, had to go down
in for an interview, she just went over the usual and
convictions and all that stuff, and asked about the cabinet and
i said i had put an extra one in, and she knows my land so it is
suitable, but shes goin to take a look at other land i put down
for permissions and shes for calling the owner of my
permissions. Pretty straight forward stuff, i guess it wont be
too long now :)

Jacob i just got my 223 couple months ago mate They clear the 26
pound 1st then contact u as you said The local firearm officer
might call out and look at your cabinet but if should not be a
problem they will also look at your land u hunt on You should
not have a problem so dont be worrying Keep in touch let me know
how you get on G78 :)

The firearms officer was out today checking the cabinet. I think
that's the last hurdle now. They seem far stricter for a
centerfire than anything else
