I'm picking up a 12G Baikal as a first shotgun, its in very good
condition and has been treated well..unlike some other stories
I've heard about people and their Baikals....maybe this is a
stupid question but is there any way I could trace it back to
its year of production/ what model it is? more out of curiosity
       than anything else really

If it was made after 86 and the serial number doesant start with
a letter and it is a izh27 (looks like a nx and found in front
of the trigger gaurd) the 1st 2 numbers normally mean what year
       it was made

its an over/under.. aye I know a few people who have or have had
them too, plenty of jokes about them but have seen them be more
reliable than guns which are 10-20 times (and above) their
value. she'll be a fine addition..and make the gun cab look a
       little less bare lol
