I was offered a place on a syndicate for ducks for 4-5 months
shooting.. its not something i know much about so suppose im
wondering are syndicates worth it? or is there anything in
particular i should be asking about it?

Wherahbouts it at? Was thinkin about joining a pheasant club but
it all seems quite expensive.

Depends on price and how many days ..was offered one myself but
have enough land to shoot on .. And was waiting to get in to
fowler club

you say 4 or 5 months shooting well thats the shooting season
your allow to shoot ducks
couple of questions you will need answers to
1,location of duck shoot or is it on a lough ( is there any
other clubs near bye and whats the friendship like between them
and land owners some clubs or syndicates take on extra guns to
cover costs of a new pen or land deal so be careful your not
being used )
2, rearing of birds or buying in both ways there is a lot of
work involved or just flighting in wild birds coming to a pond
and feeding ( how many work or feed days will you be excepted
to carry out and how close to were you live its ok over the
summer nights going up and feeding but later in the year after
clocks change it can be a handful
3, cost of the years shooting and returns over the last lot of
years ,it could even be a small pond with a handful of lads just
feeding and shooting handy shooting but there is downfalls to
this as well ,you dont want to be going shooting on a Saturday
hoping to bag a bird or two to find other lads shot Friday night
on you
these are only some quick questions i would be asking just to
cover yourself ,best of luck with it hope it works out and let

cheers duck caller..
. found out its at lough neagh couldnt be given a definite fee
just yet but was estimated £120-160 and they go up and feed wild
birds... with living down the Ards Peninsula, the distance is
the killer for me. although does anyone know of any clubs etc
around Strangford lough?

they can be good but make sure you know the ones in it we got
taken on a few years ago put up new hides done a lot of work got
one season then they told us we were out we found out we were
paying more than the others to cover there shooting just be
carful

try strangford lough wildfowlers they shoot the lough and lough
neagh as well as 2 forest areas for £160 a year and that
includes insurance check the search box on here typing in
strangford lough the numbers there for one of the main men of
the club

dont get me wrong there is some place on lough neagh you would
pay 3 times that amount to get shooting there but thats mostly
kept for the locals
