       17hmr

Never had a 17hmr or never heard how loud they are. Is it like
the crack from a 22 high velocity round. Sort of thinking about
changing. Probably wont but just a thought.

They're louder than a 22lr but not too bad, my first hmr didn't
have a moderator lol plenty of people on here with hmrs would
probably let you see, I know when I open up with mine on the
range all the .22 guys are looking at me lol

Great round when used within it's limitation. There's a fair
crack off it, but seems to depend a bit on the weather as to how
bad it is. Don't really take it out too much at night, as I
don't really want to hack the neighbours off to much. On a
still, frosty night it's much more noticeable than on a windy
       one.

Is it difficult to have a .17 HMR added to the FAC or is .22
       centre fire easier?

Many thanks, I'm pretty sure one of my permissions has suitable
land (quite hilly) but what to put on the application to justify
       it I'm not really sure.

Thanks Turk ..... will they ask me to get rid of my Voere .22 LR
(I've had it for more than 35 years and it has a sort of
       sentimental value to me)?

You'll need to explain why you want both, in that case I'd
assume the 22lr is a bit low power for foxes yet you don't want
to go down the centrefire route yet, so you're going for 17hmr??
       ;)
