Working away from home?

Anyone know what the story is if someone had a fac and start
working offshore/abroad for a while, eg oil rig worker, etc?
Would the guns have to be left in storage (eg with a shop) while
ur away or is it more awkward?

think they have to be if you are away for 14 days or more

U can leave them in ur local gun shop. But they might charge a
storage fee. I have done so wen working away.

Babby I was away last year for a while and according to my FEO
the guns were ok at home as long as they were locked away in
your approved cabinet and house was alarmed etc.

As said,, as long as they are in YOUR APPROVED storage ie your
cabinet they are fine..........the key is its approved storage
why would you pay someone to provide what you already
have,,,,,,,,

There's nothing definite yet, just a maybe. whats making me
think is a conversation I had with a family member who had a fac
and was in the merchant navy, ran into a few problems, tho it
was 10yr+ ago, just wondered if anyone knew the current
situation

the firearms branch recomend if your away for any length of time
to put them in storage but like anything its upto you and if you
think they will be 100% safe in your absence .... just because
there in a cabinet dont mean there safe , if you live rural and
have no close neighbours to hear any goings on your cabinet
could be empty in a matter of seconds
