Potato Boxes Wanted

A long shot I know but when out about keep your eyes and ears
open for any farmer going out of spuds or selling half ton
(10cwt) spud boxes. I want the half ton not the one ton boxes

Do you want them for spuds Ian or for storing something like
sticks or turf in?I have a better idea if thats what its for. My
wifes father is a pratie man I could ask him if its specifically
boxes you want.

Yea woodcock I'm looking them for turf, I can get plenty of the
one ton boxs but don't want to go to the expense of having to
put duals on a big tractor, I'm after the half ton so I can lift
them out with a wee tractor

I dont know how well this idea would work for turf but its
fantastic for timber. Good strong pallets with a ring of sheep
wire stapled to the top side of it. A roll of sheep wire is
approx £40 and is enough for 11 off 4ft square pallets. Provides
great air circulation, much better than boxes and can still be
stacked 3 or 4 high. When its empty just fold the wire down flat
and stack them 10 or more high.

Yep Ryan there great for sticks and I use the same but I found
with the turf as there are not fully dry/seasoned when you fill
them and over time and as the turf seasoned they shrunk in the
cage leaving the stacks unstable and eventually fell.

It is mine yes. I've done some engine work to it but no pistons
or liners yet. Pump ,injectors, head, valves etc. Its not ideal
but does the job.

Just the usual repairs :D be handy having that loader , mates
looking one for his , you ever have trouble with the hydraulics
?

Not really. Few burst hoses from time to time and no brakes for
the first 10 attempts.
