       New Hawke scope problems

I bought a new Hawke scope for my .22. Its a 3-12x50 illuminated
recticle, with paralex adjuster and eyeball relief. On the eye
ball releif if you screw it out it is shaky and wolopby and if u
look through the scope and wiggle it about the crosshair moves.
Should it be doing this or is it a fault with the scope?

How far out are you screwing the eye bell ring bit? On
illuminated models the crosshairs are etched onto the glass in
the eyebell housing, so no risk of damaging the crosshairs but
your accuracy may suffer if the scope gets knocked. If you
haven't screwed the eye bell relief ring out too far then it is
likely you have got a faulty scope. You do not need illuminated
crosshairs btw. Just another marketing gimmick used to sell
scopes with cheap glass. Hawke scopes are generally well made,
but as they aren't a premium branded scope it does happen
occasionally where someone gets a faulty one.

Yes if I screw it out a wee bit it is whollopy and the
crosshairs move. It must be a faulty scope

Wise words from Dancake. Stay away from bells and whistles on
cheaper scopes. Something has to give in order for them to
provide IR etc. And what invariably gives is the glass quality.

I may return it then. Wat do I buy? I have an illuminated scope
on an air rifle I bought,i think its some job for low light or
       lamping

What's your budget? It's very hard to advise without a ballpark
       figure.
