There's a magpie in there somewhere at 350 yards, doing some
zeroing last week and couldn't resist, got him with a 40 grain
ballistic tip ;D got him first shot, though took a while lining
it up as still using a 3-9 redfield (bloody inconsiderate mate
getting married in July so new 6-24 is on hold til I get the
stag do over me!)

Did it the hard way lol no Mildots on the scope, and I havnt
practiced dialing in with it to be confident enough to return to
zero. Ballistics calculator on phone was saying drop would be
about 12" and 10mph wind would drift about 17", so reckoned the
magpie was roughly 10" high so aimed its own height above it and
gave it a couple of inches windage, timed the shot between
gusts. No exaggeration that it took near 20 mins to make the
shot, waiting for the bird to stop moving, wind to die down,
etc, and the set trigger on the rifle helped lol
Usually wouldn't chance shots like that unless I was certain,
but i reasoned i had enough info to make it and if I hit the
bird at all it would be an instant kill

Wind's a real bugger to judge. I've only shot the hmr on targets
out to 210 yards, but it's very satisfying getting it on target,
when the winds up.

It's the isnipe program from App Store, think it was free but
seems quite accurate so far. Aye windage is a pain tho you're
right it's great when you do work it out, one of the reasons I'm
getting rid of the hmr, always bloody windy here lol
