Devine vermin

Hey guys
I recently sent of a variation to include .22lr
Recieved a letter from psni today stating"please define the
vermin for which u wish to use the .22 rifle"
Is this normal practice?dont remember having to do it for
shotgun!or are they now defining what .22 is cable for ?

Gavin in tannyoky told me of this rule for my last variation it
is no longer acceptable to say you want a gun for vermin control
or sporting purposes you have to name each species you intend to
hunt ive heard of a few variations not being granted because of
this

Rabbits and all other legal quarry ...
If you get it just granted for rabbits that's all you'll be
allowed to use it on

I think the problem hear is that it must be written down on
paper by urself ;)

On all my applications I've always specified what each gun will
be used for. I assumed everyone did that??

"Vemin control" is specifying what you will us the gun for!
Up until recently it was a perfectly acceptable use but has now
been changed and u must define specific quarry!
Not sure how we were meant to no this maybe firearms branch
could let rfds no?

Its not hard to specify what your vermin is, and you should know
what you need to control it and what is suitable for that
species or you shdnt have the gun in the first
place...........simple and about time they put some control in
place to many ppl shoot at things their guns are not suitable
for and if you don't have the need for a weapon you won't get it
or rather you won't get a cannon to control a starling......
Suitable calibre for suitable quarry and approiate to the land
it is to be used on.........
