This scope was recommended to me by members on here, I got it
for my 17hmr and I can't be more happier with it, they do lower
magnification versions also to suit your shooting needs...
BEWARE OFF FLEE BAY FAKES !

I use a Hawke Varmint SF 3-12X44 on my CZ Varmint .22lr. It has
a mildot reticle that comes in very handy. Have found the scope
to be ideal for everything from long range target shooting (300
meters plus) to lamping. Well put together scope.

I also have the 6-24x50 Gameking and find it excellent on my HMR
- I also have the 4-16x50 on my .22lr and find it a very average
scope, but ok for the .22lr. The 6-24x50 is very good when the
light starts to go - very impressive for a budget scope.

Does anyone dial in the turrets for each shot or just use mil
dots for holdover/under?. Dialling each shot should be the most
accurate so hoping to try different range targets to practise
once we get a dry and calm day.

I personally use the mildots. Too many rabbits have buggered off
whilst I've been faffing about with the scope.

Just bought a 4-30x60 super zoom, good for long range with 17,
but in answer to original question, hawke varmint should do good
job mate.
