       Great Saturday shooting

well were do i start ,after a couple of nights lamping and not
seeing to many rabbits i decided we needed to change the plans
a bit ,so we went out lamping at 3 oclock in the morning and to
finish with a mornings goose flight so with batteries charged
and lurcher in the car we headed to our permission and with in
10 mins we had a good release of the dog although she did not
get the rabbit it was a great chase on a squatter with the chase
going over 250 meters before getting in to windbushes and
getting away ,he ll be there for the next time
however his mates fell to the lamp

the bag ,this was both the dog and the rifle

just before first light at 730 we headed to the geese hoping to
catch them on their way to feed however with the fog down they
stayed on the lough a bit longer than normal but we stayed and
Chris got a lovely left & right i got one that flew on before
       dropping about 400 meters away

as the first of Chris,s birds hit the ground we were amazed to
watch my lurcher pull off a great retrieve ,after going home
and getting the labs and hunting around for a hour we still did
not find my goose ,was annoyed at losing it but it must of hit
the ground running and got to the river
great days shooting and with good company one of the best days
shooting this season and on the plus side the first 3 flocks
took off without coming near us so they will be there for the
       next flight

had a hard week chasing these this week no 2 flights the same
they kept moving the flight line and the times and caught us out
       a few time
i had hawkeye down twice this week and did nt get a shot then we
finished the week with a final flight and i got this big boy

so with only 5 days left we will give them the final rattle
before they can get some peace and quiet to breed this year for
       next years sport
