Go for the 16" and spend your money on ammo. ;)
There'll be no noticeable difference in performance so go for
which ever one you feel handles better.

A .22 rimfire round only needs a 16" barrel, maybe even less to
reach maximum velocity (depending on the round used). Anything
over 16" isn't necessary. Anschutz make 14" barrels for some of
their rifles and there are even 12" barrels on rimfire rifles
and accuracy is still spot on. Have a look at rimfire rifles
that are offered in 16" and 20". The 16" will always be more
expensive. The shorter barrel is more maneuverable and lighter
with no loss of accuracy or velocity.

A .22lr has accelerated to its maximum velocity within 12".
The reason why a 16" CZ is more expensive than a 20" is that
they all arrive in the UK with 20" barrels and the importer gets
them chopped, recrowned and screwcut. On average, a 16 is about
fifty quid more expensive than a 20. Well worth the extra in my
       opinion.

That must be the varmint barrels Al, as I've an American with a
sporter barrel and it's 22".............definitely too long for
shooting from a jeep, but otherwise not a problem

Yes Flatliner, that's correct. It was the rifles referred to in
the original post that I was talking about.
