Where to start - pistol shooting

Hi Guys
Total newbie to site so please be gentle!
I'm based in poyntzpass and have FAC for shotgun and air rifle
but have been interested in pistol target shooting. Is
anyone aware of the best route to start or clubs that are
recommended. Have a young family so anywhere open in evenings
or
weekends a huge bonus.
I've shot pistols a few times before but would be interested in
undertaking a safety course if anything specific exists

Your not too far from me then! Not very many clubs round here,
lisnalea do some pistol shooting but it can be difficult to get
in. I joined nitsa near dromore (at side of the motorway between
newry and banbridge), they do alot of pistol shooting and do
courses all the time.

Thanks for the advice. I'd looked on the NITSA website but
seemed to imply needed a member to invite you along. I suppose
it may be more sensible to just pick uo the phone and give them
a call.

Don't even think about NITSA (the dark side)lol. Try Ballydougan
Shooting Club near Gilford, grand wee club.

Ballydougan will accomadate during the evening, or as long as
there's 2 club members present you can shoot anytime. It's like
any sport, it's expensive as you want it to be, but with time
and experience you'll learn what you need and how to shoot cost
effectively, reloading etc.

Nitsa opens Saturdays, Fridays and wednesday evenings (daylight
hours), I'm serious, if u want tongonfor a nosey some time let
me know ;)
