dog eating shot game

As above was out today shot a jack snipe within 2 mins of
getting into the fields only for my dog to eat it whole
Any tips on how to stop him doin this

I read it wrong. I thought it was a game where you had to as
many dogs as possible in a certain time? ;D

actually had my dog do this on the last day of the season last
year?! never done it before or after lol weird

a ole dog I had years ago always ate the first snipe we got >:(
but always retrieved the rest. and a chessie I had would eat all
the ducks unless I lifted them of the floor >:( >:(
