Social Experiment - The Follow up

Posted a little over half an hour ago on here two images...
Thread was clearly marked NSFW (Not Safe For Work, which on
forums usually precedes nudity or similar)
One was of a topless woman with a gun and one of an erect penis,
also with a gun....
Curious to see replies and peoples comments, opinions, reactions
etc...
One user replied saying 'B o o b i e s'
Then the thread was deleted without further comment or
explanation...
*edit* Just received explanation from moderator, thanks...
Short, but interesting conclusion of the values of the forum (or
two users, one of which im to assume had moderator powers)

Well I was tempted to write a strongly worded response about
proper firearm control, fingers on triggers, pointing guns at
people, etc, but the boobs won. Meh. ::)

As said in the PM we cant have nudity or content
that may offend other users. We dont want to be like
other forums and place rules, or "Do's and Donts" all
over our site.

Hehe...
I'm not stirring, just bored in work as there aren't any kids in
school today...
It was something that was done on another forum that I subscribe
too, people posted various stuff just to observe
reactions/comments etc and to see who found what offensive etc,
testing the boundaries of social acceptbility so to speak.
We are an open forum I agree, and nudity (mainly I assume due to
it being visual) is something that (some?)people find
'offensive'
However, what about those folks who don't find it offensive, but
instead find images of dead animals, or swearing, or dirty
jokes, or slagging, or sectraian, or political, or, or, or, or,
or, comments offensive...?
Like if I said "Jim Bob, your are a fucking cunt for forcing me
to blatter that poor we fox cub to death with a milk soaked wet
sponge", would people find that offensive...?
Are words less offensive than images...?
What about the poor milk lovers...? What have they ever done to
use to deserve being soaked into a sponge...?
Does it become offensive when targeted at a particular
person...? (my sincere apoligies we we actually have a user
called Jim Bob)
What about images that are acceptable to some (like I personally
have no problem looking at images of dead animals as i know, or
like to assume, that they didn't suffer and were killed for a
valid reason), but imagine if someone from the Cuddle Fluffy Fox
Protection Tree Hugger Society came on, registered as a user and
then compained that it was 'offensive', how would we as a forum
react to that...?
I understand why Snap made the decision to delete, honestly I
didn't even expect it to last the half hour it did, I smiled at
the response it got, and the resonposes it's still getting.
This conversation could go on for ages... :o)

What can I say, I'm always consistent ;D lmao!
Anyway miroku you didn't need to post those pics for a social
experiment, you just need to look at the thread about the
swearing poll to get all the answers you need ;)
